Rising house duo Badin Brothers return to Crossings with the invigorating ‘Archangel’, featuring a scintillating Ampish remix, out on 21 January 2020.

Few artists can achieve consistency with continuous innovation and versatility, yet Badin Brothers achieve just that. Their signature energetic sound is reflected in ‘Archangel’ and is combined with heart-touching melancholic melody which shows why the brotherly duo are tipped for big things in 2020.

Ampish’s remix takes ‘Archangel’ to a whole new place. It preserves much of the melancholy and eloquently builds on the original, achieving a dark and powerful big room weapon. 

On creating ‘Archangel’ Badin Brothers said: “We have had a growing interest in the melodic house and tech scene over the last few years, hearing lots of exciting new artists and tracks. After trying different approaches and synths, recent and old, we finally honed in on creating a medley of retro synth stabs and dreamy background pads and vocals. We also worked hard at creating our signature fast-paced drum lines to accompany this web of melodies, giving this track a faster pace than usually expected for this genre, and the result is a rolling mix of moody and engaging melodic house & techno.”
 
Badin Brothers previously released the acclaimed ‘Monkey Flute’ EP and ‘Crepuscule’ on Crossings, winning support from such leading selectors as Joris Voorn, Eli & Fur, Claptone, Joseph Capriati, Golf Clap, Richy Ahmed, Sasha, Horse Meat Disco, Robert Owens and Damian Lazarus.
 
Badin Brothers are the Paris-born, London / Milan-based production duo of Scott and Olivier Badin. The duo are renowned for their ability to produce rich and soulful music that blends styles with strong percussion elements and Latin American influences. This is also displayed in their exciting, energetic DJ sets which saw them make their Ibiza debut in 2014. Since then, Badin Brothers have played across the world. Their releases on HOUSEKEEPING Records - ‘Music Off’ EP (2017), 2018’s ‘Caravan’ EP (ft. GNTN and Artche, hailing from Germany and the UK respectively, have both been bubbling up in the world of European techno for the past few years, collaborating most recently for an EP on Einmusika and individually releasing on labels like Stil Vor Talent, Suara, and Terminal M. Their debut EP for Yoshitoshi, Plastic Paranoia, brings together the dark, melodic sounds they are known for and incorporates elements of techno and deep house to create a swirling mesh of exhilarating sonic textures. The title track shines with its gorgeous vocal, proving that vocals and techno are not mutually exclusive. It possesses an absolutely stunning breakdown that is sure to have crowds singing along, and builds into a sweltering groove to keep feet moving. Expressions is all instrumental, interweaving a series of gorgeous synth melodies and pads that coalesce in an atmospheric and elaborate soundscape. It's a master class in maximalist production, each element shining through the multitude of layers happening at any given time. To finish things off, Spaniard Aaryon, who is no stranger to the label, gives us a deep, leftfield remix that showcases his propensity for abstract sound design. It's a subtle take on the original, but Aaryon gives it enough flavor that it feels fresh and unique. Altogether, the package displays a variety of stellar music that feels perfectly at home in the Yoshitoshi catalogue.

Fresh for 2k20 the Hive Audio crew comes in with a dark surprise – the launch of a new platform/subsidiary for strictly darker dancefloor-focused electronic music. For the very first release on Hive Audio Dark we proudly present the new single effort created by Hive Club resident and Swiss-based producer Vanita who's weighing in two original tracks as well as a captivating remix on her „Still On My Mind EP“.

The opening tune „Still On My Mind“ sees Vanita joining forces with vocalist Eleonora, catering a deep take on late night Tech House mysticism surely influenced by classic Tech Trance and Progressive vibes with its endless breakdown, slowly evolving melodic pads and patterns as well as Eleonora's reflective, innocent yet captivating lyrics floating atop the tunes structure like a fairytale from an alternate ancient reality.

With their rework of „Still On My Mind“ the duo that is Prismode & Solvane presents a new take on the original track built on a foundation of highly compressed, hard pumping bassdrums and obvious Tribal influences accompanied by cascading melodies and even more of an uplifting, harmonic and Melody-inducing feel for maximum dancefloor impact.

With „Broken Pieces“ Vanita is in for another solo studio effort, bringing forth a well more brooding and technoid aspect of her sonic explorations. Masterly sculpted hard hitting drums are accompanied by a heftly low-end as well as panoramic pads, a distinct percussive shuffle and layers upon layers of ever changing intertwined synth modulations as well as a modernistic, spaced-out homage to (Neo)Cosmic alike which defo levels all punters' brains up to a hypnotic state of consciousness.
