Flowing heavily through cosmic alleyways, Rotciv's sounds always do the damage. Producing for labels such as Rebirth & Luv Shack Records, his latest intergalactic conquest has landed on Jorkes' Freeride Millenium: https://freeridemillenium.bandcamp.com/album/resemblance, which has remained on loop with us at Viscera HQ. 

Alongside running his incredible Mister Mistery, Rotciv has been carefully perfecting his craft on the 1s and 2s for over 20 years, as showcased within this week's mix. So strap in for bangers galore and prime yourself up for that Friday feeling.

Party and festival organizer, an avid record collector, OK Sound regular, football fan, and disc jockey hailing originally from Nastola, Finland, DJ Jese brings that disco and boogie heat on OK MIX volume number 6. For many years he has been keeping the Jyväskylä city nightlife party scene alive when organising the Ilokivi Dance Night events or Jyrock Festival. Recently he has been also involved in the Solstice midsummer festival up north. DJ wise he’s also known for long sets that sail between all things nice! Keep an eye out for his name when the festivals and clubs open again for guaranteed entertainment.

We would like to welcome you to a new addition to our weekly radio this week from none other than Johnny Yen (Archaic Future Sounds). 
 
DJ, selector and vinyl digger Johnny Yen started his career in the mid-2000s by organizing and performing raves in a Viennese night club in a former pedestrian underpass. A subversive supporter of the underground scene, he has curated and played hundreds of club events. 
 
In his Vinyl-only sets he loves to mix various styles like Leftfield-, Balearic-, Afro Cosmic- and Italo Disco with New Beat, EBM, Electro, House , Techno and Trance, not only vintage but also contemporary productions from his Collection of 12,000 records. Since 2009, Johnny's has been hosting the Disco Frisco DJ Mix Podcast and the event series of the same name with great passion. In 2021 he founded his label for contemporary electronic music Archaic Future Sounds.

Ever since the first white labels appeared at the end of Summer 2013, [Emotional] Especial has been putting out music that is slightly left of (club music) centre. Influenced as much by and including dub, electro, disco, proto-house, house and techno, guided more by a feeling than a sound. 

This thinking has been that exemplified by every 10th release being a label sampler - a showcase of unreleased tracks or remixes of what has come before, plus the odd one off cut by an artist to watch. Some 4 years since the last Sampler, the label's 40th release presents new label heads Giraffi Dog, returning after their recent "live" Multiverse EPs, here teaming up with GF Rich for a breaks anthem. Sub bass rising, the persistent build leads to piano before drop and Acid mayhem ensues, highlight why G Dog are such a producer to watch. 

Label mainstay Alphonse returns, with White Pepper from the "Stolen Sunrise EP", here remixed by House stalwart Toby Tobias. Having released for a who's who of labels including REKIDS, ESP Institute, Delusions Of Grandeur and Futureboogie, the illusion these past years of who is Alphonse can finally revealed as Toby himself. The remix of his alter ego takes the 'Balearics' of the original and adds breaks and 303, all retaining a laid back feeling for summers return.

On the flip, the label welcomes rising star, Remotif. With a series of EPs showcasing a growing talent, his recent Coymix release sealed the deal. Here, his comedically titled Beam Me Up Softwoiii belies a party anthem, where breaks and arps rise in unison before an Aphex sunrise burst, drops and heads down in pure dance. 

Akio Nagase returns to close with another of his Japanese folk meets lilting 303 Acid House. An Okinawa traditional folk song, conveying a life lesson, here to Hosenka flower is laid across slo-mo acid bubbles to quirkily and perfectly complete another 10th release of the Especial path.

DANCE MUSIC SHOW 08/10/19

Lithuanian, Vilnius-based Ramūnas aka midnattssoula has already done one mix for Clandestino mix series, but this was about 4 years ago and then he was working with another project. He's been running his own radio show/party series/record label Where Were We? for 3 years now and both Joe Morris and Nick Smith had a chance to be a part of this journey. 

WWW just dropped its third release and this time it's featuring up-and-coming Frenchman Blaise Balda. There's also a remix pack coming mid-March from the likes of Romain FX, REES, Sauvage World (from Slow Motion fame), and Lithuanian Italo talent Black Feeling. Several of these tracks from both the original EP and a forthcoming remix pack is in the guest mix which showcases Ramunas' passion for more uptempo, dancefloor-oriented Italo house and synth-wave burners. It's totally OK to dance alone, it's time to heal your wounded soul! ; )
