THETA: deep relaxation
Theta waves oscillate around 4 to 8 Hz. 

They correspond to a state of intense relaxation and deep meditation in full awakening.  The body is asleep and the mind is awake and alert. Under this type of brain configuration, you are very internalized. This can go as far as a state of drowsiness. You are then suspended between wakefulness and sleep.

more specifically :

Theta waves have a fairly low frequency of 4 to 8 Hertz and are related to creativity, intuition and reverie. It is a repository for memory, emotions and sensations. It is also the phase of slow sleep (falling asleep).
The theta rhythm reflects the activity of the limbic system and the seahorse region. This rhythm is observed in the anxiety, activation and inhibition of behaviour.

It is a state of deep relaxation, of full awakening, achieved especially by people trained in meditation.
It is a state used in hypnosis. It reflects the state between completeness and sleep.
It is also a state that some people reach in deep meditation and prayer.

Theta waves are connected to our subconscious mind, they govern the part of the mind between the conscious and the unconscious. They contain memories and sensations.

Theta rhythm allows us to access the subconscious mind. They also govern our attitudes, beliefs and behaviors. These waves are related to the super creative states of inspiration and spiritual awareness.

Between birth and the age of 7, children function mostly in low Delta and Theta frequencies. This is why children can acquire so much information. They carefully observe what is happening in their environment and adopt the behaviour and beliefs of those around them.
We use these Theta brain waves when we engrave oaths and promises with ourselves. We return to this same Theta state to abolish these oaths.

The Theta state allows us to immediately eliminate and replace particular thought patterns on all levels where they are registered in the body: freeing us from these patterns, releasing our energy and free will. Only a few fundamental patterns support thousands of related beliefs.

In this Theta wave state, there is no separation, one generally loses the notion of time.
The more this rhythm weakens, the more the subject becomes deeply asleep.

This state is one of the most elusive and extraordinary realms you can explore. It is also known as the twilight state, which you experience only fleetingly when you wake up, or when you fall asleep to sleep.
