OLAM PRESENTS - Morah. 

Introduced at an early age to electronic music, Morah aged 16, started DJing and using music softwares working on sound design, collecting money to finally buy his first synth at 19 when he started experimenting with sounds. His debut release “Route” was on Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder label. 

Morah has his music ideology united different kinds of music as means of expression a notable inclination on experimental leftfield soundscapes and 80s indrustrial. His sets cover a wide range of the electronic music fasma. Vintage synth textures of dark wave and synth pop merge with industrial, techno,  post punk  and electro beats which moving easily and creating a ritualistic pathway all the way till catharsis.

He has released music on labels of Return To Disorder, Suction Records,  Berceuse Heroique, Vanila, June, Brokntoys, Lux Rec, Dark Entries, Fleisch,  Tresor Kern Compilation, Clan Destine, Among.

Stojche Cvetanovski (born in 1984 in Skopje, Macedonia) is just a regular rebel trapped in the urban chaos of the 21st century. The trigger factor that inspired him, was the local underground techno scene in Skopje. A city described by Derrick May and Juan Atkins as “the leading hub for Detroit techno on the Balkan Peninsula”. The expansion of the motor city sounds in the Macedonian capital and his mania for vinyl records triggered Stojche to explore his path and dig deeper in this futuristic music phenomenon. After a decade devoted to djing, he shifted to producing, and in 2009 he co-founded “Argumento Music”.

He is one of the names on the European circuit that broke through with contributions to labels like A.r.t.less, DMK, Conform, Subwax, Grounded in Humanity, Sounds Benefit, Freund Der Familie alongside others. In 2011 he launched his solo imprint “Tangible Assets”. An outlet that has given him the freedom to explore and refine his trademark Detroit – influenced dubbed out productions. “Tangible Assets” reflects a personal statement with emphasized appreciation for the techno history. His discography marked him as one of the names that is still pushing forward the timeless envelope of the initial “hi-tech soul” legacy.

In contrast, his dj sets provide further evidence of years spent behind the turntables, resulting in pounding journeys with a dose of emotional content. His constant pursuit for inspiration sits balanced with the pulse of the city life. Locked away in his studio in Berlin where passion and process all catalyze into waveforms of intense voyages, executed by a man who is well in tune with his craft.

The basic harmony of the heart is energy. If you look around for creative minds in the German techno scene, you will quickly come across the name Lydia Eisenblätter. With her energetic, analogue, straight sound, she had a striking reflection of her personality pressed on vinyl, founded her own label and released exciting records.With her label OAM she showed courage and the right feeling for good sound, which is reflected in her worldwide collaborations. During her gigs, Lydia exudes an authentic mixture of honest, heartfelt basic harmony and dynamic, uneven, rough edges of her personality, which make their way onto the dance floor in the form of driving tracks.

In her own releases you will find very personal elements of her soul, which, like the fragments of a disco ball, she knows how to combine into a beaming something. Her unique style has been able to develop over many years and numerous well-known personalities from the techno scene have been her companions and sponsors. After her studio in Leipzig has become her second home, it is not surprising that she will release new records in 2022. The next EP of Lydia will be the third [OAM] on 25th of march.

Sofia Nøt was heavily involved in the Bratislava hardcore punk scene from a young age. Apart of organising a number of concerts, she played bass guitar in several important bands, while performing concerts in several European countries. In addition to hardcore punk, she was also interested in electronics from a young age which lead to start producing music. In 2019, she started publishing her first singles and music videos under the project IAmNøt. In production, she likes to use bent and straight beats, into which she likes to mix predominantly darker atmospheres of the industrial genre. She adapts her DJ sets to her productions, so we can find genres such as techno, breakbeat, or post-punk in them. IAmNøt's debut album will be released in a few weeks in September on vinyl, under the labels Urbsounds and Haluzeum Produkt.

Here in this collaboration, The Undertaker’s Tapes and Catastrophe Existentielle takes a deep dive into French electronics, from minimal to synth synth wave, up until post punk.

Peter Novák comes from Trnava, Slovakia. He got involved into electronic music scene in the late nineties during the golden age of techno. Since then he has remained loyal to the rave scene. In the beginning, he was engaged in the production of techno. Subsequently, he organised and played as a DJ at small events in Trnava bars with a focus on psy-, goa-trance and ethnomusic. After moving abroad, he took a longer break.
Despite this, he is considered a newcomer as a DJ, as he started to actively and more regularly play again in 2019. Since then he organises parties focusing on dark electronic dance music under the name "let the BODY burn". His sets are  dark and pessimistic mixture of techno, electro and EBM, often spiced up with vocals.

Carlos GrabStein, DJ & electronic music producer was born and raised in Mexico City. The beginnings of Carlos in the electronic dark scene originated in clandestine electronic music parties and underground clubs as a DJ in Mexico City, influenced by the classic dark sounds of the New Wave, Obscure minimal and Synth Punk, Carlos developed his DJ style, looking also towards modern fusions of EBM, Industrial/Techno, amongst other contemporary genres.

Her deep, immersive techno sets are crafted with the music production skills from studying sound-design and also from her event production involvement with @spektrumkolektiv. As a group of music people armored with a huge amount of essential enthusiasm in these hard-times, they have decided to come up with some new ideas and their own way of doing parties with a different kind of approach. SOFA – is their new concept.

Phase Fatale is the Berlin-based techno project of Hayden Payne. Since 2014 the New York native has earned a reputation as a techno innovator, both for the broad spectrum of dystopian, gritty, industrial-laden electronics included in DJ sets as well as his deep understanding of synthesis and sound design in his own productions.

Phase Fatale has been turning heads with his debut album in 2017, and 12”s on labels such as Jealous God, Ostgut Ton, and its sub-label unterton. He has since settled into residencies at both Berghain in Berlin as well as 中 KHIDI in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi.

In 2018, Payne launched his own label BITE, where he introduced Soft Crash - the pi- oneering ‘Italo body music’ project in collaboration with Pablo Bozzi. In 2020, Payne released his second solo album Scanning Backwards on Ostgut Ton, while 2022 saw his third solo album and the widely anticipated debut album by Soft Crash.

Phase Fatale’s output as a selector, as well as his productions and curation on BITE demonstrate Payne’s unique musical vision, drawing from new and classic references: dark ambient drones contrasting with the raw, punchy dynamics of industrial and post- punk, cold wave aesthetics combine with 4/4 techno functionality – all stitched togeth- er meticulously with strong atmospheric sensibilities, careful and precise mixing

Warlock of Strahov stadium: Hexen of the Organizovaný Plevel collective, introduced himself to the audience with his debut EP "Outer Layer Of Psychic Sphere", which was released in 2022 on the Prague label Wrong. After release of the EP Hexen continues to evolve his ritualistic dark noise live sets to wake up dread and horrors inside of you.

His live performances possess the atmosphere of an occult ritual: showing up all draped in a cloak, bearing flaming candles and producing dark noisy drones with H.P. Lovecraft influences. He will cast his dark spells with hammering drums to beat fear into your heart.

His career took root in the realm of hip-hop back in 1990. In 1993, he made a notable appearance at the DMC World DJ Championships in London. His journey as a DJ flourished as he partnered with the dynamic hip-hop duo Trosky, showcasing his skills behind the turntables.

From the very beginning, he played a central role in cultivating and nurturing the Slovak drum and bass (dnb) scene, founder of Drumatique, Slovakia's foremost dnb crew, his influential contributions have left an indelible mark, establishing an enduring presence within the community that persists to this day.

In 2008, he released a captivating track titled "Goodnight" in collaboration with Morebeat on the prestigious Dutch label Fokuz LTD. This release was followed by an exceptional remix from the talented New Zealand producer, Dose. A year later, he teamed up with DJ Smote for another impressive release titled "Slowly Down" on Midnight Records.

For our seventy-first episode of the OLAM podcast series, we present 'Man + Machine,' the musical project of Daniel Ágoston, Hungarian DJ, producer, music selector and writer, who was born in the ‘80s, and early got addicted to post-industrialism, cyberpunk and futurism. With an artistic line inspired by darkness and intense emotions, his music can be described as a blend of the sounds of love and death, the sense of joy and rage.

He is also involved in a live, hybrid performance of "Man + Machine" on stage, alongside co-producer and collaborator Barnabas Horvath, also known as Barnsz. The Men + Machine live/hybrid project takes a slightly different musical direction than what the audience has come to know from the solo DJ sets. It's much more experimental, slower, and boundary-pushing yet equally extreme and self determined.

Mogano, the moniker of Marco Berardi, an Italian-born and Berlin-based electronic music producer. In 2013, he founded Arboretum, an electronic music imprint that focuses on sound and visual art experimentations. His sonic approach involves re-processing traditional musical instruments into cinematic soundscapes and gritty polyrhythmic drum textures.

After making his debut in 2015 with the 'Sycomore EP' on Arboretum, Mogano's music has found a home on labels such as Voidance Records, Liber Null, and L_Klangkunst Werk, where he contributed a remix for the Indonesian duo Senyawa. Frequently featured as soundtracks for movies and podcasts, his music productions also appear on radio shows like Noods Radio, Movements Radio, The Forgotten, Berlin Community Radio, and in magazines such as FACT Magazine, Noisey (VICE), and KALTBLUT.

Unhuman is the Berlin-based electronic and experimental project of Manos Simotas. 

He is also the founder of Liber Null Berlin, which has played a critical role of unifying the freedom of arts in a conceptual event in the scene and also operates as a record label. Expanding beyond Berlin, Liber Null held events with performance arts and music all around the world including Athens, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul and beyond. 

Unhuman started in 2012 in Athens with his first release "Emperor Black" on tape, he evolved through different genres ultimately finding his own unique voice in experimental and dark electronics. Keeping his root in post-punk, Unhuman released on labels such as Instruments Of Discipline, Veleno Viola, BITE, Amok Tapes and Strange Therapy. A regular mainstay of major clubs in Berlin, Unhuman has performed all around Europe, Asia and South America and holds the artist in residency at Constant Value in Seoul, South Korea.
