Signed to Nicolas Jaar's subscription based Other People imprint, this week Lucrecia followed her Syzygy album with the minimalist S/T EP and we knew right away that her sparse sonic style would bring something special to i-D's Slumber Session. Press play and slip into sleep mode with Lucrecia's dreamscape.

"Something very subtle has happened. It's as if reality has been tilted, or perhaps, someone like you had slowly inclined it, or even worse, had consciously crooked it, just like that! Oh, tell me, tell me! If you have noticed how have I been slowly sliding, is there an edge here, or?

I'm tiring of it now, I'm left with the draws. I do want you to love me, but more I want you to let me love you, let me crave you, let me do anything to you at any moment express my appreciation for you, lie down with you over and over, feel everything, your skin, your breath, your fluids, the whole you and in holding you let there be for that moment no difference between us, nothing that cannot be. Not from the outside, I want you in me not just by entering from the outside, I know this is impossible, I want you to cut me open, feel back my face, strip the sinuing muscle from my bone, and find that there's still something to love, how can we be otherwise? How can we be these bodies? I want you to please let there nothing that cannot be, if you cannot do this then go away."

‘Waters Rising’ is a collaboration with vocalist Lola Empire and was originally written around a piano sketch that was sent back and forth between the two artists until it became the fully realised song you hear now.  

"I really hadn't expected love to be a theme in the album, but I was chatting with Lola and she told me how she'd fallen in love. I sent her the initial sketch for this and told her i didn't think love was an appropriate subject for it. but she came out with this. 
'love is dark' she said."
