Too Slow To Disco continues its goal to bring some much needed Sunshine, Love and Romance back into modern Pop music and dancefloors, via the new Sunset Nu Disco / Daytime Disco release on TSTD NEO: The original is a collaboration of two of the most interesting new modern Nu Disco/Pop producers, Canada’s NICOLAAS and Stockholm’s KIMCHII (on vocals). To round up the package, we present an incredibly smooth dubby downbeat disco remix by L.A.’s Turbotito (formerly one half of Poolside) and Kimchii gives the romantic POP original a more dancefloor orientated remix-version.

In NICOLAAS’ words:
“Nostalgia plays a huge role in this project. I find a lot of inspiration when looking back - be it to my own memories, older music, art, fashion, or perspectives in-general. There’s so much to look back at, it constantly pushes us forward. To me, this track evokes a feeling of nostalgia. Referring to love, looking back is a good way to ground yourself in the present. We learn more about ourselves with each relationship we build, and hopefully grow from those experiences.”

In Kimchii’s words:
”Forever Always is a song about love and desire which outplays in twilight landscapes, on a journey towards somewhere else. Both me and NICOLAAS vibe in these landscapes, so we created this song together online, by sending files back and forth to Winnipeg and Stockholm. Many parts of the track were written during the nighttime and I believe that gives the song that special feeling too.
We’re both more than happy to share the song with you all. You’re the light at the end of the tunnel - forever always!”

“Peruvian Gold” is a smooth and soulful journey into Jazz-Funk House, taken from Ross M’s Endless Lifetimes EP. Built around funky bass, groovy yet laid-back drums, and soulful sampling, this track leans into the mellow side of Lo-Fi House — perfect for late-night listening, relaxed lounge vibes, or deep headphone sessions.

Rather than chasing the dance floor, “Peruvian Gold” embraces the warm, organic textures of Jazz-Funk and the hazy intimacy of Lo-Fi production. Its subtle grooves, soulful atmosphere, and intricate layers make it ideal for listeners who love Jazzy House and downtempo electronic music with character and depth.

Blending elements of Funk, Soul, and House Music, Ross M creates a track that feels timeless and cinematic — a piece designed for reflection as much as rhythm. “Peruvian Gold” highlights the softer, more emotional side of House Music, offering a listening experience that is both modern and deeply rooted in tradition.

Premiere: Chuggin Edits - I See The Pain (Original Mix)

Russia-based, nu-disco and slow-mo powerhouse, Buzz Compass, is our next feature in the Slow Mo Lounge mix series, alongside South African founder DJ Kongisto.

They've collaborated on yet another 3hr soundscape driven by chunky nu-disco reworks, and slow-mo sounds, played at an 88 to 95BPM rhythmic speed.

Kongisto says: It's been quite an honour to play alongside such a prolific producer. My biggest privilege is being able to connect with people from countries outside of my own with a common purpose, it's almost like sharing a language. For Andrey and I, it was a love for Deep and Slow-Mo House as well as Disco that brought us together - proving once again that music is a borderless society - something I'd like to harness with every release.

Buzz Compass, aka Andrey Bychenkov, is a producer and DJ who hails from St. Petersburg Russia. Since 1997 Andrey has been the resident DJ in his native city of Ivanovo and Nizhny Novgorod where he has lived for a couple of years, honing his skills on the turntables. 

Now based in St. Petersburg, Buzz has been producing since 2011 with multiple releases on Glenview Records as well as three EPs on No More Hits Records. 

He has also released his own music on top labels such as Editorial, Whiskey Disco, Masterworks Music, Midnight Riot, Freedom Sessions and more. 

Andrey loves repping his country; Russia, never passing up an opportunity to spin natively and in neighbouring countries Belarus and Kazakhstan. An avid disco collector and lover, Buzz is always looking for local disco and house music artists to promote the Russian scene which is exemplary in his dynamic sets & mixes.
