Here's a recording of disco and soulful house music in anticipation of a disco themed party I'll be playing in a couple weeks. Sounds of recent tracks from some of my favorite artists back when I was more regularly spinning this style of music, plus some classic disco joints and edits. Good for the last hot days of summer.

Disco Days Of Summer

Recently I had the honor of making dinner for a giant crowd of 60+ people at a snowed-in summer camp venue. Once people finally sat down to eat, I noticed a couple of friends were playing some choice deep dubstep and I couldn't resist getting involved. That led to a dinner party set winding through some of my recent favorite tracks in the underground bass/club/rave genres at around 140bpm. This is a semi-faithful reconstruction of that set which I initially failed to record. The first 30 minutes are verbatim from my set list and the next 30 are 'extrapolation' on the theme. I hope you enjoy, turn up the subwoofer for this one.

Live at Pisces Palooza '23 (Extended Reconstruct)

This is my first studio mix in many years, a collection of some of the new sounds that I've been digging within the world of club and bass music. I put this together for my submission to DJ at APOG music festival in 2025 but I am pleased with how it turned out and want to share it for your dancing pleasure. These tracks are fairly uptempo, dance floor focused and bass-driven so please turn it up and enjoy!

Original artwork by Brandon Fernandes aka DJ Cradlebrat. His sick little alien drawing inspired the name for this mix, as well as the Annihilation book series by Jeff VanderMeer, which I've been listening to recently (and highly recommend).

Phase Rave

Here's a recording of my set from APOG music festival 2025 at the Hive Stage, 11:15pm-12:15am on Friday, July 4th - yes, there were fireworks for my set 😊. This was my first proper festival set after many years behind the decks, and I put a lot of time into choosing music that would sound great on a huge system. I tried to bring tracks with intricate rhythms, heavy bass, and bouncy fun. I've always been a big fan of sound system music but never had an opportunity quite like this to play stuff that I love in the context it was made for.

It happened to be my birthday at midnight, so it ended with a crowd sing-along of happy birthday which was really touching.

I have so much gratitude for the huge number of friends who came out in support and danced with me, it's impossible to recreate that experience but I hope you enjoy listening to it again anyway. If you can, throw it on in the car or on a stereo with a subwoofer - this music isn't really meant to be listened to on small speakers.

I also have to thank everyone from the APOG team who put faith in me to rock such a choice set time for my first time out, and the team at The Hive who absolutely blew me away with their professionalism, sound engineering, and visual design. What a stage!
