Welcome to Week 9 of "Rain Check Mondays". This is a song I did with REKS, Dynas, and Jon Hope. Hope you like the story!

Story:

"My dude REKS always puts together amazing combinations with MC's on his tracks. Dynas, from Florida and John Hope from Rhode Island. The beauty of file transfers at work. These are 2 cats that I had wanted to work with and REKS was able to facilitate it. Good looks homie!

This was one of my favorite beats that I had made at the time. The cuts for the hook were already recorded before I sent it to them so, it was a fill-in-the-blanks type of song. I had never met Dynas or John Hope, but was looking forward to them hopping on the track.

Recently, I happened to comment on one of Dynas' Facebook posts. This was 3 years after the song was recorded. I mentioned that I was a fan and that I loved his verse on "My Word". He was like "oh shit, that was you who made that beat?!?" We've since then been in contact, shared fatherhood stories, and have plans to work more in the future.

If this had been 20 years ago, a song like this would never have happened. I feel blessed to live in a time where I can record an entire album with someone hundreds or thousands of miles away. I mean, look at what happened with Foreign Exchange? 

North Carolina to The Netherlands...and they were Grammy nominated. Beautiful."
