Lacey's Lane

This tune is named after the Old Man Friday studio dog called Buddy. He is a super happy Jack Russell Maltese cross who loves to greet everyone with a wagging tail and copious amounts of licking. Buddy is pretty much pumped everyday apart from when there are electrical storms or he comes across a German Shepard which he sizes up and chases once they’ve turned their back (he has touch of little dog syndrome). Buddy likes to hang out in the Studio and usually falls asleep when we’re recording or mixing. He is actually a really good gauge of our music, so if Buddy disappears it’s a sign that we need to start over 

Sunday afternoon wading through the shallows with the whiting darting between your feet. Long boarders in the distance trimming the last waves of the day. The sun is going down beyond the hinterland and the salt is drying on your back. You hear the sights and sounds of families playing on the beach and the smell of BBQ catches your attention. Its Sunday afternoon and you're going to make this moment last.

It Ain't Tahiti is named in honour of our good surfing buddy Jason who coined the phrase 'It ain't Tahiti' during an old man surfing session. Someone who shall remain unnamed in our group pulled out of a sketchy 2ft close out to hear Jason yell at the top of his lungs 'Come on it ain't Tahiti' much to the amusement of all the crew. The term has stuck and is often thrown around to provoke and entice bravery... after all the 2ft pits on the banks of Palm Beach Ave ain't exactly Tahiti! Good on ya Jase! Keep charging :)
