Its all good and well sticking up unreleased stuff from all my catalog, and stuff from various genres, but lets not forget the golden era of Happy Hardcore ... 1995. 17 years ago WOW! 

Made with one of my production partners of the time Dzyne (Also the engineer to Toy Town), and vocalist Gem who sung One Tribe - What have you done!!

Inspired by the summer of 1991 at Labrynth when Vinyl Matt would drop the "East Side Beat" version, these vocals when on those "Love Doves" were magical, and I wanted to take them with me to the Hardcore scene.

At this point I was making a point of keeping the "Break Beats", but the inevitable was happening, the "Kick Drum" was taking over.

Big up Gammer who has said this was his favorite Happy Hardcore tune of the era.

Ride like the wind was originally released on Slipmatts label ... Check the sleeve, i looked as silly then, as I do now LOL.

Understand what is going on here ... This is 17 years ago, the scene is fair ground crazy, and every thing sounds like a lullaby a 6 year old would be singing in nursery ... I was not feeling them vibes at that moment in time, all we was doing was experimenting continually.

Also picture in your mind, this whole tune is literally a mistake. Every one was stoned in the studio and the Akai was playing up, and the bass sound is a malfunction because of this, but it sounded wicked. Deano the rapper, wasn't actually a rapper, he was a flyer designer ... Also put in your mind this was made in Austins shed, not a big studio.

The kicks, the arrangement, the break down, the FX ... Every thing about this tune was alien to any thing out there ... But it showed that you could have Hardcore anthems, that didn't follow any formula ... Long may producers keep pushing those boundaries in Rave.

Did this tune ruin the Happy vibe? Did it give Hardcore a new lease of life? Has it stood the test of time? Is it almost 2 decades ahead of Dub Core? ... Fuck know's, all I know is people still quote the lyrics to me, and ask for this tune!!
