Back to my roots so to speak. I started off many years ago attempting Enya covers and this one has been lurking in the background for some time. Finally dusted it off and remastered it and here it is. As usual the odd duff note and what have you but hey I don't mind if you don't.

Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" Not my usual type of stuff but its an Instrumental synth version that has been kicking around the computers hard drive for a while so here it is.  Please excuse any duff notes its all been transcribed (OCR Scanned) as I can't play for toffee.

Back to where I started for once. A cover of the title track from Watermark by Enya. Background voice synths by Augmented Voices and all other sounds from the factory sound bank of the VPS Avenger suite.

Take Me Back

Back to basics it is then - I started out doing Enya covers and I had this one done before but I was not happy with it so decided last night to revisit it and try again. 7 re-takes later this is the end result. 

Enya - Marble Halls

Back to dance it is then. Another track using pre-sets from the Avenger 2 reworked by myself and made into the noise we have here. Sort of dark and heavy up-tempo dance thing again.

A Reborn Star

Another track made with the VPS Avenger 2 using the Melodic Tech Voices expansion. There are a total of 15 different synth tracks with drums and a vocal sample all mixed together and this is the end result. Mixed in Studio One and mastered with T-Racks and final edit with Soundforge Studio.

Music for Movies part 1 - Helios. This is sort of an easy listening, soundtrack style track.

Helios

No Ai here thanks. You can sort of tell this little tune was played by a ham fisted human thanks to the occasional chord change mistake on the bassline (due to me only having 2 hands) I left them in rather than mess about, as well, I'm not paid to do this, if you want a professional then get Jarre in to do it :) Sort of a basic John Carpenter style meets Jarre meets a synth doodle. Again all sounds etc from the Avenger 2

Desire

A sort of 80's style tune with a hint of video game or Miami Vice style beats and sounds that escaped from my computer at 4am. Maybe it should have stayed there, maybe not :)

Sunset Drive (Night Shift Mix)

Back when I first started messing about with old synthesisers and computers  the majority of my work was Enya covers. I have not done one for a while and found this on an old drive I had forgotten I had files on. I ran it back through Cubase again and changed 90% of it and this is the result.

Decided to redo this as the track it was meant to be. A John Carpenter inspired movie style soundtrack thing. Just 3 channels in total. Bass, Synth and Drums.

Not done one of these for a while, just a bit of a soundtrack style instrumental moody dark sort of thing.

This is the only copy I made of this that survives, as the original Cubase files I used have been lost and the backups failed so even if I wanted to remix this and do it again I can't.  So here it is, for ever immortalised on the interweb duff notes and all :-)

Made this using only the Zebra 2 VST in Cubase. Mastered in t-racks and normalised in Soundforge. This is an  entirely digital project from start to finish.

Back to my roots I suppose. It's where I started really, doing Enya covers in the middle of the night while everyone else was sleeping. Nice little two track song, well, one track actually but I overlaid a basic backing on top of the lead just to fill it out a bit. © Enya but all production, mastering, recording and what have you by me.

Another little favourite classical piece given an electronic makeover. Once again using the Polymode for the harpsichord sounds with additional Roland D50 help with the layers.

Handel - Sarabande

Originally I composed on an Atari 1040ste then evolved into tape mixing and basic PC use - eventually started using Cubase about 12 years ago with a couple of old analogue synths and some basic VST stuff and now and I use Studio One and a Nektar LX61+ keyboard. Literally everything sits on the desk now. I'm still not a musician and still spend hours programming and producing things by ear using whatever technology I have to get the results I like.  Some are good some are bad but its therapy for me nothing else and if people like some of it that's a bonus.
