A meticulous dig into genre-beding dreamy nineties underground rarities - from breaks to rave to techno to clubbier house, it's all there, carefully picked by Gely (@gely-dj). A wanderlust-y mix some might say.

Gely (fka Soundbank), started djing at 2013 and became a resident Dj at Budapest’s best and hope-to-reopen-soon techno club, Lärm. He is co-running a record label called ‘This Is Our Time’ (@this-is-our-time)with his friend and longtime b2b partner Route 8 (@route8) and managing a club night promoter team called 'It's Okay To Dance'. Producing tracks/edits under as ‘This Is Our Soundsystem’.

"It's usually a painstaking and long process for me to record a new mix that I’m satisfied with and this was no different. Plus it's was the first time I've done it since the covid period and it turned out to be a somewhat wanderlust-y, dreamy mix that may reflecting a longing, but I leave it to the listener to decide what for."

The walls were closing in and the hazard siren was roaring loudly. Deep inside the factory she felt that the time was now, the time to resist and to fight with passion and power. The metallic shell of the building had been a home to misery and pain for far too long. Soon it would burst with glorious colour and radiant light as the fireworks blasted with a glistening bang. The fuse was lit and the countdown to infinity was well and truly on. Prepare to boom!

Pye Corner Audio is set to release a new four track EP on Lapsus Records on the 15th of December. The enigmatic producer delivers gliding arpeggios and electronic wizardry on the label in what makes up the "Where Things Are Hollow" EP.

Pedro Pina has been a key figure in the Spanish electronic music underground since the late 90s. His passion for musical experimentation remains unremitting and has also led him to refine his production techniques to such a pure and meticulous level that his own unique sound is now instantly recognizable upon first listen.

The prolific Barcelona producer has not released on LP format since "Transit" [Lapsus Records, 2015], that together with "Onda Corta" and "Hum" -both released on Lapsus in 2011 and 2013 respectively- formed his successful and inimitable sound trilogy.

"Lärm" enters new industrial wastelands, where noise is a common thread throughout. Pina openly experiments on this nine-track album, delving deep into the changing facets and mutations of noise, in which his typical powerful and rhythmic house bass lines once again combine with IDM textures and melodies. Furthermore "Lärm" includes exceptional collaborations from Cora Novoa on "Rach", and Oriol Rosell on "This Is It" and "You Were Warned".

The official album launch will take place within the program of the 25th anniversary of Sónar Barcelona, ​​in the form of an audiovisual performance collaboration between Pina and Gnomalab -alias de Juanjo Fernández, member of The Suicide Of Western Culture-, which will be held on Saturday, June 16, on the SonarHall stage.

Budapest producer Route 8’s long-awaiting debut full release almost didn’t happen. The original album was lost when the producer – and the Lobster Theremin crew – had all their belongings stolen in Detroit, whilst on their first tour of the United States a few years ago. The Motor City has had a significant influence on the labels output; piecing together new and exciting sounds that float over the sonic history of America's great manufacturing cities - Detroit and Chicago. 

Annoyed, but determined not to let an album concept so close to heart go to waste, Route 8 began re-piecing the record back together. Rewind The Days Of Youth (releasing on Lobster Theremin) is inspired by Szilveszter Horváth’s artist alias, which borrows its name from the highway in Hungary that the producer regularly cruises down to visit his grandmother. 

The aesthetic is just that: cruising music. Themed around a journey from the ambient launch of ‘Departure’ to the down-tempo buoyance of ‘Arrival, the entire record gives off big ‘cruising down the highway’ energy as we float between glitched-out IDM, bass-heavy minimal house rhythms and emotionally uplifting synth work that incites a real sense of nostalgia and images of a distant sunset turning everything it touches to deep orange. 

The subtle grooves of the title track, ‘Bound Together’ and ‘Nowhere’ all give off a cloudless sunset vibrancy, brimming with Larry Heard-esque basslines, acid-licked grooves and dreamy, elegant synths dripping in brilliant colour. 

The interlude marks the half-way point of the record, and with it comes a muscular drum workout, blending with otherworldly atmospherics that takes the album down a darker route as day turns to night. The meditative state evolves throughout ‘4th Journey’ - a cut of dreamy, ageless IDM with odes to influences both past and present – while ‘Tomorrow Comes Today’ introduces Australian vocalist Quals into the frame on what is arguably the albums stand-out track; a memorable Erika De Casier-like groover. Available with digital purchase is a bonus track – ‘This Far’ – which samples Leslie Howard in the 1936 picture The Petrified Forest. “I suppose I was looking for something to believe in. Worth living for, worth dying for...and I’ve come this far on my journey,” says the pitched-down sample of Howard as an acid-tinged, club-ready daydream plays out. A fitting end to the trip.
