REBELLE is an emerging party label and mix series
broadcasting deep cuts and notable guest mixes on Data Transmission Radio. Curated and hosted by Arianna Danae, based in Brooklyn, NY. Our guest mix this month is by Tammy Lakkis, a singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ well known to dance floors in Detroit and beyond. Her recent EP Notice on Hamtramck label Portage Garage Sounds put her on the map as an unconventional one-stop-shop weaver of sound with its single appearing on NPR Music’s 100 Best Music of 2021. Her music, performed live with all hardware equipment, floats between dreamy vocal house and dark bass-heavy jammers and often winks at the nostalgic Arabic melodies of her childhood. Lakkis recently toured with Ela Minus and will soon join the ranks of the greats at Detroit’s Movement Electronic Festival this May.
