The touching Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi is perhaps the most famous version of the Stabat Mater, a cycle of songs about Virgin Mary. The final number he wrote when he was on his deathbed (1736). Pergolesi had in fact very dangerous TBC which was caused that he died at the age of 26. The master of the Italian Baroque chose an intimate composition: soprano, alto, two violins, viola and continuo. The moving Stabat Mater by Pergolesi with Olga Zinovieva and Sytse Buwalda.
