After a short serious of illness or lovely frind "Spock" was gone on monday. In the past we have always taken in old cats from the animal shelter to give them a good last time. At some point we couldn't go on and wanted a cat that would survive longer.

But this time it hurts especially. two years after we brought our beloved "Rollo" to a special clinic on monday, the same vet had to bring us the sad news again on monday. I hate to give my cat away on Monday and she never comes back.

I will never go to a vet on monday again.

Katyusha is a russian patriotic folk song. It's about a Russian woman called Katyusha.
"Standing on a steep riverbank, she sends her song to her beloved, a soldier serving far away."
In Nat King Cole's english version, one line of the song reads: "Purple skies Remind me of Katyusha"
Another line in other translation reads: "Apple trees and pear trees went into blooming,"

The russians named also the "Katyusha Rocket Launcher" after it.
This was the idea for the line in my own lyrics. "these are the strange love greetings sent to us by Katyusha from afar."

The Herald was an officer whose duty it was to proclaim war or peace, carry challenges to battle, and messages between sovereigns etc.

My weekend project for my Last Song.
A tribute to the Poems ans Lyrics of Leonard Cohen.

It seems my lyrics needs a little explanation.
In my head the connections are clear, but even my wife has not quite understood what I was getting at.

It was the last song on "Natural Born Killers" and probably the moment
when I first noticed Leonard Cohen as a really cool artist. When we got married in the USA in 2010, we rented a Mustang
Convertible for our honeymoon and drove it through the desert. We were often greeted with Mickey and Malory. That was quite amusing.

"twenty years of boredom is just a blink of an eye"

- They sentenced me to 20 years of boredom

- "And I remember when I moved in you and the holy dove she was moving too and eery single breath we drew was Hallelujah"
this is obviously a very erotic allusion. In my imagination, the dove is now "pregnant" and must hatch the egg. She will raise it full of love.

In connection with the Ukraine conflict, my father just told me how he sat in the air raid shelter bunker during Worl War II and sang together to drown out the sirens.
They were certainly not poetic songs, but they served to spread hope. Today, when he listens to the news about Russian War he remembers how scared he was by the sirens.

"especially now, on a Wednesday"
this has no relation to Cohen. My wife reported to me last Wednesday walking down the street. An ambulance came across the redlightning crossroads at high speed.
She was trying to warn a woman who was carelessly walking across the street with her cell phone to her ear.
Instead of thanking her she was insulted in what tone she was talking to her. In the context of the sentence: "would you rather die? On a Wednesday of all days?"

"Everybody knows..." song with this title.
Means that many people are not interested in this kind of lyrics. They are only concerned with the now.

Apparently I think too complicated in my songs. To better understand my thoughts and words, I would like to go into the story behind them.

I will never forget the look on a friend's face after we kidnapped him from the hospital many weeks after his serious traffic accident to drive a little through the night. The happiness of still being alive and regaining freedom. At the end of that ride we brought him save back to the hospital. 

This song is a fictional story about a couple in a many year relationship where the beloved wife is in the hospital with a terrible illness.
If it were based on a real story, I don't think I could sing about it in the same way.

The idea of being incurable in a hospital, monitored only by machines. The only distraction seems to be the television in the room. But everything reported there seems meaningless and unimportant in such a situation.

in my mind about this I would wish to spend some more time together alone and escape from this situation.
And how precious every second becomes that you can still spend together.
One probably wishes that this time should last for eternity.

With this background the song seems a little different than planned despite the happy melody.

2023 on May 24, we were at an OpenMic when we heard the news of Tina Turner's passing. We spontaneously tried to play this song in her honor but completely failed. 

Not one of us really knew the lyrics and the only thing left was to hum the melody together.

I was never really a big Tina Turner fan, it was always a little too mainstream for me. But I admired her work, her charisma, her energy to participate in life.

Even if many things are going wrong in the world, it is far from me to raise my finger in warning. I myself do many things wrong of which I know that it is actually not okay.

so i deleted everything that seemed too concrete to me. In the end, I only used the beautiful abstract lyric parts.

I recorded this song 2 days ago. I had no idea that the news of his passing would reach me today.

For me it was my first recording after a long cold when i finally had my voice back again. I had always wanted to record this Christmas song and my voice just seemed perfect for it.

Now it has become a sad reminder of the life of a great artist whom I liked very much as a child.

I am very grateful that I took the recording before the sad news. So it remains a tribute to his life and not to his death.

In winter, only the bumblebee queens from a bumblebee colony survive
Workers and drones die. Only the queen hibernates in a hole in the ground and has a reserve of honey to feed on.

Bumblebees have probably been around for 25 million years.
Mankind and its religions have only existed for a few thousand.
If bees and bumblebees are wiped out, the impact on flora and fauna will be so serious that the mass of humanity will probably only be able to survive for a few years.
So we should definitely pray for the preservation of bees and bumblebees.

In der Weihnachtsgeschichte kommen die Weisen aus dem Morgenland und folgen dem Stern von Betlehem.
Dort angekommen fragen sie:
- Wo ist er?
- Der neugeborene und König der Juden
- Wir sind gekommen um ihn zu huldigen

König Herodes hat davon erfahren, dass ein Rivale geboren wurde und befiehlt einen Kindermord
Dank der Warnung durch einen Engel, können sich Maria und Josef mit dem Kind rechtzeitig nach Ägypten absetzen.

Die Engel lassen die Flügel aneinanderschlagen um die Hummel an ihre Kolonie zu erinnern

Im Winter überleben alleine die Hummel-Königinnen aus einem Hummelvolk
Arbeiterinnen und Drohnen sterben. Nur die Königin überwintert in einem Erdloch, hat eine Honig-Reserve die sie ernährt.

Hummeln gibt es wohl schon seit 25 Mio Jahren.
Die Menschheit und ihre Religionen erst seit ein paar Tausend.
Sollten Bienen und Hummeln ausgerottet werden werden die Auswirkungen auf die Flora un Fauna so gravierend sein, dass die Masse der Menschheit wohl nur noch
wenige Jahre überleben kann.
Man sollte also in jedem Fall für den erhalt der Bienen und Hummeln beten.
