Live and direct from Auckland’s Red Bull Studio with NZ dubstep pioneer Olie Bassweight. one of the original Aotearoa dubstep pioneers, who has been crafting his production and DJ-ing skills for over a decade. He launched his own imprint Bassweight Recordings in 2006 because of the ridiculous amount of great New Zealand dubstep that was emerging at the time, releasing NZ’s first ever dubstep record. Discovering artists such as Optimus Gryme, Organikismness, Consequence, Helixir, or RQ, along with numerous others, Olie and Bassweight Recordings have proved to be an undeniable force in the world of New Zealand dubstep and electronica. His tight mixing and rudebwoy selections have cemented his place as one of the busiest DJs in New Zealand, keeping him touring constantly. If all this wasn’t enough Olie has also released his own music on numerous different labels including Bassweight, Stupid Fly, or and Monkey Dub, to name but a few. Olie Bassweight has joint forces with Wellington vocalist Timmy P to record their debut EP at Red Bull Studio Auckland. Partake....

I feel like my transport should be an extension of my personality. And this is like my little window to the world... and every minute's a different show. I may not understand it. Don't worry about colouring within the lines or colouring outside the lines - I say colour outside the lines, you know what I mean? Colour all over the page; don't box me in! We're in motion to the ocean.
