Oliver Sidwell - No one on earth

During the pandemic i penned some lyrics in a small folder, and recorded a somewhat bad vocal and a guide track which stayed hidden away. Fast foward to November 2024 when i was moving files to a new hard drive i came across the old guide track and decided to continue and finish the track for a release in 2025. 100 hours of messing with various pads, synths (massive, sylenth, juno and pigments to name a few) as well as the Spitfire Audio BBC Orchestra VST. Kicks were from a preset i modified in Kick 2. I'm thrilled to present to you, Miracles, a song about finding solice and hope in a world of chaos.

Corvus is a synth heavy Melodic Progressive house track. I wrote the melody while on a plane to Ibiza using fl studio mobile and quite possibly the worlds worst synth. it was a night flight and when i looked out the window, between the beacons and the clear skies i was inspired enough to write something. When i landed i finished the melody and saved before sending over to myself to finish when i got back to the studio. A bit of tweaking (a lot!) later and i finished the track. I do this for the love, i hope you enjoy!

No mans sky is a short 2 minute journey. I made this song with the dream of one day playing it at the sunset strip in ibiza (Cafe Mambo). I produced this and on my second monitor i had youtube videos up of the sunset strip at ibiza. I wasn't there this time, but it was fun non the less. I've listed most of what i used below. Saffron is £25.00 and Scaper was around the same, crazy deals to be had if you look. 

Anyway, hope you like this track, its short and sweet but it's about the journey!

Will you remember me is a song about two people going their seperate ways in a relationship. At the end of their lives, when the brain regresses, will we again rememeber those we loved along the way? 

No matter what we believe, each and every experience, every loved one who passes in and out of our lives, leaves a mark on us. 

I often look back, but only to rememeber how lucky i am now. The truth is, i'm happier at 35 than i was at 16. Hopefully i can say i'm happy at 60 than i was at 35!

I started with an 'arppegiated synth' and some vocals... Mastered it a bit harsh using headphones tonight, so the audio may be replaced soon with a better version.

Endless love is a song about exploring the boundaries between what is real and what is in our imagination. I have met so many people on the journey of life and i always stop think about them and what impact they had on my life. Without every single experience i have had so far, i wouldn't be who i am now.

Sometimes you write a track and it doesn't go the way you planned. Love me when i'm gone started out life as guide in 2012. I was listening to alot of trance artists at the time and after four differen't revisions, i still couldn't get it right. It then sat on a Toshiba portable hard drive until november 2024 when i was upgrading the space on my current computer (music, Daw's , samples and plugins take up a crazy amont of space, one plugin is 35gb!). 

Anyway, i found the vocal titled 'Tormenting me'. 

Needless to say in 2012 i was an abosolute mess. I hated my job, i hated the way life was turning out and i was bitter. I wasn't my best me. Hearing the heartbreak in my own voice made me realise, at the time the music meant everything to me, It's all i had. 

So it's not a paticularly happy song, nor is it the best work i've ever done, its a bit 'Guide tracky' even with a new vocal, but its 2025 and people want real right?

Can't get more real than a 20 something pouring his heart out and then the song being brought to life some 13 years later.

Pareis (Weareprogressive 001) sees Oliver Sidwell return to track duties, this time with this melodic slice of heaven. 

"I wrote the track Pareis based on an old holiday video i had in Majorca. I went on a bit of road trip and found the most beautiful place, Torrent De Pareis. its like spains grand canyon. I started with a stripped out song, using a very trusty old casio. They aren't the best sounding keyboards, but i wanted to get away from expensive and work on expressive." 

The track itself uses Arturia Pigments 6 for the bass and lead sounds. The pads are from a native instruments subscription. The kick is from Nicky Romeros Kick 2 and the percussion is from 'Co-Producer' by output audio. The vocal sample is from Output audios 'Arcade'.

Secrets is a song I wrote when i was younger. I had the displeasure of being cheated on, and though she blatently denied it, i knew something was going on. Under love, i was blind and didn't see it coming. The reality is, i was second best and the relationship was toxic. I learned to love myself and because of her, i found true love away from the constant questions of 'am i good enough'
