Nothing's The Same is a song about how much everything has changed in my life. It's looking back at moments that at the time, I didn't realize I would ever feel nostalgic over. The little things like running through a field as a kid and what that felt like, going on a joy ride and bickering over the radio for the first time because I wanted to listen to Regina Spektor,  and then some of the heavier moments in my life like having bodyguards and looking for comfort and love from a guy only to realize that no relationship could fill the void I was feeling . I really wanted this song to capture that it was the seemingly little, spontaneous things in that state of limbo that I'm actually the most nostalgic of and that I think most people miss.  It's never the big things, it's everything going on in those transitional stages that makes us feel most alive and most connected in the world.
