These days realizing again what a masterpiece this is. Brilliant album!

These sounds are not of this world.  Shame this album didn't get the release it so deserves.  Grabbed the free version years ago and was happy to purchase high quality versions via bandcamp.

Thank you Oliver.  I like all kinds of music but I somehow end up going back to your music over the years.  Some of your music is magical.  This album is a work of art.  At least there is a quiet minority of us in  that truly appreciate your music.

I decided to put online for free the "unreleased" LSG album. It created this in late 2002 for beeing released in late 2003. Then the distribution went down and the situation was unpredictable, so the decision was to start with the new distributor releasing a "best of LSG" album and see how things go...but this is a different story...

As i said this was done late in 2002 - so not in any way representing what i am doing right now. This is more a tribute and a big thank you to the fans of the LSG project and - at least for me now - a way to close the door to this project and focus even more on what i am doing now. Some people might say that the old stuff i have done was better than what i do right now. But please think about how things developed...
When i started the LSG project trance as a name for a style wasnt established and right now to me the word trance does have a really bad meaning and only stands for a certain commercial and non-developing style that i am glad finally managed to get less attention. I tried to stay ahead of times but in the big times of this project it was hard to always keep that in mind. So i can only ask to always keep your ears up for new styles and artists and dont block something new by just thinking that the best happend in the past already.
I personally think that at the moment the greatest thing about the music scene is that a lot is possible again like in the early days. The "we are cool - this is crap" way of thinking is not as big as it was some 5 to 8 years ago and all kind of different styles and influences can work on one label or even in one track again...
so like back then its just about good music.

Oliver Lieb Balance FM Guestmix April 2020 Extended 65 min Version

OK, so what do you play when you get the 3pm opening set of a fine summer's day old skool party? It's 33 degrees and you know you're going to be playing to the bar staff, a few loyal followers and those in search of a refreshing ale or 7.

Well... if you're me, you'll spend a few weeks culling thousands of tracks down to a few dozen appropriate tunes, cut them up into loops and phrases and assemble them into ableton in a way that lends itself to improvisation.
Then you hit record and hope it sounds good.

So here it is, a 115 bpm summer flavoured breakbeaty jam - very light on the acid (I don't think there's any actually), quite varied in it's choice of tracks and every track cut up, re-edited, looped and whatever else... not too many crazy effects though.  For the most part it came out better than I expected - there were a couple of points when it lost sync during the New Order jam, but I've cleaned that up... everything else was pretty much done live in one take.

Enjoy it kids - I had fun making it.

BIOGRAPHY:
With 13 LPs under his belt, plus over three hundred EPs, with singles on such legendary labels as Harthouse, Superstition, Data Rec, Hooj Choons, Yoshitoshi etc. he has been at the forefront of electronic music for 30 years and remixed everyone from stadium-filling acts like Faithless, The Human League, Moby, and Yello to the best up and coming producers in the scene. 
Releasing genre defining music under aliases as L.S.G., Paragliders, S.O.L., The Ambush (to name just a few) and his real name, Oliver has covered the full spectrum of underground techno, house, trance, and ambient sounds, and evolved his own distinctive style and presence that is immediately 
felt with his productions. 

In 1999 Oliver released the Lithium EP by Paragliders on his first own label platform and started to release constantly under his real name on Ministry of Sound’s in-house label Data Rec.

After the label Superstition stopped he re-invented himself in 2005 starting his Techno label Maschine and in 2013 his label Solieb Digital for re-releasing his remastered classics.
 
In late 2017 he re-activated his project L.S.G. with his remix of the 1994 classic Netherworld followed by the double album DOUBLE VISION. Both on Bonzai Rec.

In 2018 Oliver released three more Remix EPs from his new L.S.G. album and returned to 
John Digweed’s Bedrock label with his EPOXI EP, appearances on Bedrock’s XX compilation and John Digweed‘s LIVE IN TOKYO mix CD

He also had his first release on Christian Smith’s label Tronic Music where he released the GONE EP in summer 2018.

Oliver started touring all over the world as a live-act in 1993. He switched to DJ’ing in 1997 as he enjoyed the more direct contact to the audience and rocked some of the biggest clubs and festivals around the world like Australia, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, USA and Canada and all over Europe. 

2018 he played at Luminosity Beach Festival  (NL),  both weekends at Tomorrowland  (BE), 
Ozora Festival (HU) and at legendary FUSE club (BE) to name a few.

PRESENT AND FUTURE
2019 has seen Oliver returning to Tronic Music with an exclusive mix of  his track Tesla on the Rockets -VA Compilation in January followed by his Violet Sky EP that came out late February 
and was featured again on Tronic’s Orbit VA compilation in August.

In late March Oliver returned to Bedrock Records with his brand new Phosphorus EP 

After a short break to finish his new website and re-releasing his last ambient album
Inside Voices on his label Solieb Digital in June, Oliver released a remix of Open Your Mind by Melody’s Enemy in July and his Hiwave EP early September. Both on Sasha Carassi’s Phobiq label

In November he is making his debut on Secret Cinema’s Gem Records label with the Artemis EP.
In December Oliver’s remix of Detection by Frank Biazzi will be out on Tronic  Music.
More music is in the pipeline coming early 2020 including an EP on Spektre’s label Respekt Rec.

With his releases, DJ sets and guest mixes on shows like Transitions, Tronic Radio and GEM FM he continues to cement his position at the cutting edge of contemporary music remaining a true original, a creative force and an inspiration to many.
