I wrote and created this demo of No (I’m Never Gonna Blame You) a bit over a year ago. It’s a message of love and support for those who have gone through abuse. From my experience, there’s a big element of shame which underpins its long term impact and I wanted to write a song which might help transmute this into self-compassion. If you’re a victim of abuse, know you are not to blame and you are just as worthy of happiness, connection and love as everyone else. Sometimes it might seem unreachable, but you are more powerful than you think.

It’s the first demo I’m sharing publicly from my Mum album, the hardest and most important record I’ve written.
