Cititrax is proud to present a 4 song EP by Broken English Club. After the strong reception of the Violence & Divinity split with Silent Servant as well as his solo EP for Jealous God, here Oliver Ho (also known for his Raudive alias) continues in a similar vein, delivering sparse vocals and shards of live instrumentation over heavy, stuttering beats and bleak synths. The tracks on this EP are rich and darkly atmospheric, pulsating loudly through a smog filled dance floor. A subversive spin on dance music, the blank-stared, pin-point-focused electronics and layers of noise betray no/wave and post punk influences, dragging together industrial experimentation and pitch-black techno. Artwork designed in Los Angeles and sourced from the archives of Silent Servant, the Broken English Scars EP features a one of a kind vinyl pressing of white inside clear – limited to 999 copies and housed in a matte printed sleeve. Vinyl pressing and digital release date: April 7th, 2014.

Known for his deep, hypnotic, and mental techno, Alderaan has released music on renowned labels like Warm Up Recordings, Pole Group, MindTrip, and Planet Rhythm, with remixes by Oscar Mulero, Stanislav Tolkachev, Svreca, and Pfirter.
As a DJ, he has been a key figure in Argentina’s underground scene and has performed at clubs like Tresor (Berlin), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Audio Club (Geneva), Cassette (Madrid), and Laut (Barcelona), among others. He is also the co-founder of Danza Nativa and the creator of his own label, Decay of Reason.

Zenaari Mix 019 - BMI

Perhaps most known for his work as half of techno outfit Cassegrain, Istanbul native Hüseyin Evirgen has been active as solo artist since 2016 and making a name in his own right. His early classical training has taken a broader form in more recent years, a mashup of inspirations with strong mathematical current where simple ideas culminate in more complex and exponential compositions. Under the name Magna Pia, and adjunct label Arcing Seas his hulking techno has taken shape, and the imprint’s proven a platform for the publishing of his own work, Cassegrain’s and that of a small number of his close collaborators. His driving beats offer powerful and provocative moments mixed in with a clever spin on ambient that’s recognizable from a mile off, and constantly pushing what’s possible in sound to new and unforeseen heights. His 2019 album Daiauna was a return to roots record that incorporated his earlier training as piano player with the fluid electronics developed since, foraging too from his keen instinct for primal rhythms and high-brow symbolism. In the end it’s deeply physical, and proof of techno’s staying power as a medium for dance and social change. Bassiani Podcast 27 covers all these bases and more, an honest and striking addition to a body of work in constant flux. 4/4 magic from a true master.
