That Mathias Kaden definitely knows how to put together a complete mix-cd, is clearly on display for the full-blooded DJ and house enthusiast with the 2011 compilation of the Groove CD number 40. For the 14th Watergate Compilation he bounds an edition with a key set on CD with timeless releases and evergreen classics united. These function just the same in the club on the banks of the Spree just as they would anywhere. Not least of all to thank are the three exclusive and unreleased tracks from Rodriguez Jr., Marco Resmann and Christian Burkhardt. These are finally available on vinyl and can be acquired via Freude Am Tanzen. Made for the club or the best festivals and open-airs of the summer. House without compromise and danceable happiness in a four x four gallop. In short, energizing and yet elegant just like the sets from Mathias Kaden himself.

Dass Mathias Kaden durchaus weiß, wie eine gelungene Mix-CD auszusehen hat, stellte der Vollblut-DJ und House-Enthusiast bereits 2011 bei der Zusammenstellung der Groove-CD Nummer 40 unter Beweis. Für die 14. Watergate-Compilation bannte er Ende vergangenen Jahres schließlich erneut ein schlüssiges Set auf CD, das zeitgemäße Releases mit immergrünen Klassikern vereint und so auch in einer Samstagnacht in dem Spreeufer-Club sowie überall sonst funktionieren würde. Nicht zuletzt dank der drei darauf befindlichen exklusiven und zuvor unveröffentlichten Tracks von Rodriguez Jr, Marco Resmann und Christian Burkhardt. Die gibt es nun endlich auch auf Vinyl, erhältlich über Freude Am Tanzen, gemacht für den Einsatz im Club oder auf den anstehenden Festivals und Open-Airs des Sommers. Berliners Daniele Di Martino and Solvane join forces at the intersection of Deep and Tech, serving up three weighty cuts of four-to-the-floor heat in their “title” EP.

“Back to” plunges in with a gradually ascending staccato of vibrant synths, laying down the groove bar by bar. In contrast with the light emitting synth array comes a low key bassline, making for a down to earth yet dreamy overall ambiance. Silenced echoes last for a few moments until ‘Reality’ kicks in with subdued groovy bass and faint vocal chops. The two producers aptly use slow paced build ups, creating ever-ascending yet constantly grounded melodies. Stil vor Talent kick-starter Marc Holstege on remix duties delivers a smooth rework of Reality.  A resounding synth lead carves out subtle rhythm variations while metallic percussion adds to the gravity of the piece. 

“Kraxler” touches a different strain of their production spectrum, revealing a composition that is equally introspective as it is dance-inducing. With a minimalist backbone and arpeggiated string arrangements, it suitably rounds off the EP with a mesmerising melody dotted with punchy accents, fit to stir up any dancefloor.
