Music has always functioned as a quasi religion for me. I grew up at the intersection of many identities. For the better part of my teenage years, I was a Canadian born Texan, who spent the early part of my childhood in Mexico city. Growing up in a variety of cultures was lonely, but it gave me the ability to choose and learn about things I did and didn't like from each, it gave me the perspective to cultivate the in between. 

In that space, it wasn't always easy to connect to other people. My early musical influences ranged from Bon Iver and Rhye to A$AP Rocky and Young thug, without discovery of many other fans of both along the way. Each artist was important to me though, specific emotions, problems, or struggles I was dealing with were spoken about and addressed uniquely by everyone that was on my playlist. After dabbling in some early production and music making as a DJ/Remixer in college, creating Oliver Sainte (a namesake inspired by the mentorship of my grandmother Olive) was as much about creating music as it was about creating a space for myself and anyone else that felt like their interests contributed to their place on the outskirts. 

And so, the music you'll hear is intersectional, R&B, electronic dance music, folk and trap, all consistently inspire my production, songwriting and artistic decisions. I hope you enjoy the music, the home I've built for us on the outskirts ✌️.
