An early exposure to House and Techno combined with a diverse knowledge and wide span of musical taste lends to her unique DJ style. Known to play music ranging from Hip Hop to club, Jazz to Funk, Disco, Juke, Garage and more, throughout countless venues and over international airwaves. The production side of Olive T varies as well, with single and remix releases on Nervous Records, 2MR, various compilations and through Bandcamp.

She hosts a regular show on The Lot Radio called Olive’s Garden and frequently DJ’s at the best clubs & parties around Brookyn/NYC.

AM: Hello! What have ya been up to recently? 

Hi, I'm in the middle of relocating to a new continent & other life changes but I've been steadily working on music throughout the transitional phase.

AM: Tell us a bit about the mix, how and where did you record it? Was there a theme or such? 

I've recorded on a minimal set up with a controller on a bed. I haven't DJ'd or recorded a mix in a while so I viewed it as an exercise to attempt to return to the headspace of creating a mix. There's no theme as I just wanted it to sound consistent and possibly included some of my own music.

AM: We’re loving the sound of your new EP that’s out tomorrow! Tell us a bit about the 2 tracks fro yourself, what was the process + set up behind em?

The ep's that came out very recently this year were made during quarantine/lockdown time in 2020, it was the first time I accepted any labels offers and was able to sit down and finish songs. I read a lot and watched a lot of tutorials in attempts to make them sound like complete ideas. I just wanted to make simple tracks with really good sounding elements, not necessarily made with DJs or clubs in mind at the time.

AM: What have ya been listening to and digging recently?

I've been listening to new HTRK, Redinho, DJ Manny, Teezo Touchdown, Nu Tone's essential mix, and The Time's drum patterns. 

AM: What’s next for ya? 

Getting settled into my future surroundings of Switzerland and hopefully releasing a few remixes and focusing on putting out 1 or 2 ep's next year.

This month I was joined by Olive T, a producer and DJ from New York who has released on Nervous Records and Permanent Vacation, played at Elsewhere and House of Yes, and had mixes on The Lot Radio and NTS. She get 12 tracks into a 30min mix and does a beautiful job of it too - listen from 1hr 30.
