This is a hybrid bassdrum I made from two 808 and 909 samples 

My goal was to create a kick that combines the best of both worlds – the rich sub bass ooomph of the 808, and the powerful transient of the 909, which cuts through the mix much better than a soft 808.

I first used this kick on my 2020 Bedrock release "Burn Your Love" – check it out!

La Funeste Balade De la Malchanceuse Tortue

Au sommet d'une colline mystique, entouré de vieux arbres centenaires et d'un étang tranquille, vivait un moine taoïste du nom de Ming Sheng. Ming Sheng était connu pour sa sagesse profonde et sa compréhension de la non-dualité, de l'unité avec l'univers.

Chaque soir, Ming Sheng se retirait dans sa modeste cabane en bois au bord de l'étang. Là, il méditait en silence, plongeant profondément dans l'essence du Tao. Il se sentait connecté à tout ce qui l'entourait, aux arbres, aux étoiles, à l'eau calme de l'étang.

Un soir, alors que la lueur des étoiles se reflétait doucement à la surface de l'étang, Ming Sheng eut une révélation. Il comprit que la non-dualité était le fondement de toute existence. L'illusion de la séparation entre soi et l'univers était une création de l'ego.

Pour exprimer cette réalisation profonde, Ming Sheng décida de créer une musique. Il prit un guqin, un instrument traditionnel chinois, et commença à jouer une mélodie qui transcendait les frontières de l'individu et de l'univers. Sa musique était une méditation sonore sur l'unité cosmique, un voyage au-delà des dualités de la vie.
