Chain of Fools is a song written by Don Covay originally intended for the majestic Otis Redding. It is claimed that the song is an unauthorized rewrite of a gospel song named "Pains of Life" recorded by Rev E Fair & The Sensational Gladys Davis. Covay recorded his demo version of Chain of Fools while singing Gospel with his brothers and sisters. After listening to the demo Jerry Wexler, an Atlantic Records producer, chose to place the song with their rising female star Aretha Franklin in 1967 rather than with Redding as he felt a women’s voice would do more right to the song.

Mighty Malka Family is french funk best kept secret. Founded in 1988 the combo includes 13 musicians and singers.
They put out their first LP « Malka on the Beach » in 1991, signed to Warner releasing their second LP « Tous des Oufs », and became the cornerstone of the Funk scene in France. 
Touring all around France and Europe, they shared the stage with bands such as Daft Punk, Chic, Manu Dibango, Roy Ayers, and Supreme NTM… Coming back to their indie roots with the french funk label « Big Cheese Records », they released « Fricassée de Funk » in 1994 and split up after the release of « Fotoukonkass » on RCA BMG in 1997.
After a 18 years hiatus they made their come back with the single « Donne-Moi Ça », as first single of their fifth album « Le Retour du Kiff » coming out 25th of November. 

With Woody Braun (sax) an active member of Malka Family in its core, Funky French League delivers a tribute mix with classics, exclusives and forthcoming Malka Family songs.

Another fantastic EP on Enormous Deep from swiss based NORA EN PURE who returns to her home base and delivers 3 stunning indie dance tracks. 
We're opening up the EP with the title track COME WITH ME. A classy and touching piano chord construction builds the basic, slowly filtering up and down during the whole arrangement. Some jazzy vocal phrases and adlibs support the melodic parts. 
LONELINESS takes the more classic indie dance direction, heading on to lift off with a hammering 80s beat pattern, sweeping atmospheres, deep house synth stabs and a funky bass line underneath. This hazy, light dappled nu disco track will become, for sure, a secret night weapon in any whether indie dance but also deep house DJ sets.
The last slot on the EP is home to the track called NORMA JEAN. A buttery blend of percussion, Melody and warm chords, creating a relaxed mood to swing your hips. The track extends just close the 6 minute mark, giving you time to get into the mood and lose yourself on the dancefloor, just exactly as you should.
