ATL080 marks the hotly anticipated return of Olivier Giacomotto this time alongside Atlant label boss BOg. These two heavyweight talents combine to deliver a mind melting summer blockbuster. Olivier Giacomotto has been riding high in the charts as 'The Unknown' approaches 6 months in the Top 100, with the EP getting plays from a diverse range of DJs from Joris Voorn to Camelphat to Vintage Culture. ODTD051 marks the Øddity debut of in-demand melodic techno titan Olivier Giacomotto. Renowned for high quality productions allied to a complete dedication to his craft, Olivier has recent releases and remixes on Atlant, Spectrum, Radikon, Einmusika and his own label Definitive. There’s been a lot of excitement around Olivier lately - on the evidence of these two new stunning tracks its easy to see why.

Leading the way is title track ‘Empty Space’. Setting an urgent driving 4/4 pace right from the start Olivier displays total understanding of the key elements needed to get the dance-floor locked in. Deep pulsating bass and dramatic percussive crashes create a heightened sense of anticipation, before cool fx ridden vox and a jagged arp attack lead to the momentous breakdown. From here Olivier cranks the intensity dial up to 11 right through to the end.

‘Ride With Me’ takes you deeper into Olivier’s mind as its powerful driving groove leads way to an unforgettable melody and vocal. A masterful arranger, Olivier uses rich synths, simmering arps and ringing keys to create a perfect point for the uplifting vocal to enter. A future classic ‘Ride With Me’ is set to be a key moment in club nights globally.

Kiko’s contributions to Watergate Record thus far have been absolute treat; from his team-up with POPOF to craft the excellent ‘Night Sky’, to his solo EP debut on the imprint with ‘Data Entry’, which saw the legendary Hacker make his label debut with us, the respected French artist has always brought his A-Game (and his finest French compatriots) whenever he’s stepped up to the Oberbaumbrücke plate. 
 
His latest offering ‘Expansion’ is no exception. The title track is Kiko on the solo tip and begins as a funky filtered electro jam, before waves of silky chords transport the cut into uplifting dancefloor territory. Mainstay French artist Olivier Giacomotto joins for ‘Deca’, a sleek and punchy slice of progressive that builds to a climax via a succession of powerful bass stabs that fizz in the background. ‘Serial’ sees Kiko go unaccompanied again for a straight up fire track that melts progressive and electro influences into a fireballs of driving rhythms, while a succulent melody line gives the track plenty of warmth. The iconic David Carretta makes his Watergate Records debut and adds his remix touch to ‘Expansion’, re-working the EP’s title track into a dreamy late-night burner, while still keeping the essence of the original as Kiko’s chords dance atop Carretta’s crushing minimalist drums.

Olivier Giacomotto, makes a grand entrance on Spectrum with his dynamic debut, 'Falling'. A release that once again underscores Giacomotto's exceptional talent for blending melody with menace.

The title track, 'Falling', boasts a purring bassline, seismic pulses, and exhilarating crescendos, all while accompanied by its captivating vocals.

'The Awakening' immerses us in deep, trance-infused vibes, with its ethereal spoken vocals creating a sense of anticipation. 

The hypnotic blend of rolling snares and siren synths further adds to the track's allure.

Two commanding new tracks from Olivier's. Both already staples in the sets of label head, Joris Voorn.

Launched originally in 1991 by John Acquaviva, Richie Hawtin and Karl Kowalski, Definitive represented the housier side of the electronic empire that Hawtin and Acquaviva started with Plus 8 Records in 1990, and after a brief hiatus, John Acquaviva re-launched Definitive in 2005 with Olivier as his main artist and A&R, seeking and presenting the latest emerging sounds and talent to the world via a reputable, consistent, and trust- worthy platform.
With this impressive career achievements and a relentless work ethic for touring, Olivier is also known around the world for his exhilarating DJ performances that combine a heavy dose of groove inside an inspired blend of melodic flavors, demonstrating his talent behind the decks with an undoubtable versatility, adaptability, and headlining some of the world’s most iconic venues and events.
