OIBAF&WALLEN - Luana (Olivier Giacomotto Remix) [Theory X]

The prolific and always-on-point Dear Deer Music is back with Himszlow's new single Custo including Robert Babicz and Olivier Giacomotto Remixes.

Custo is a beautifully downbeat tune. The heavy, slow drums are dubbed out and moody, with delicate melodies and synths up top adding to the melancholy, while a breathy vocal drifts in the spaces left behind. It's epic in emotion. Custo (Robert Babicz Remix) is then a more club-ready cut with smooth rolling bass and heady chords that get you in a trance, gazing at the progressive melodies. Last of all is Custo (Olivier Giacomotto Remix) which has another driving baseline and fleshy bass with scintillating percussion.

This is a classy trio of cuts once more.

Premiere: Sharam - Amnesi (Olivier Giacomotto Remix) [Yoshitoshi]

Part 2 of the Propaganda remixes picks up where the first left off. Gathering together some of the finest talent in contemporary techno, Oliver Huntemann’s killer LP from late 2017 gets more new reworks and remixes.

'Momentum' is flipped by the ever dependable André Winter, who’s deep and groovy interpretation brings new textures to the orignal and will delight fans of his previous work.

Fur Coat, the producer duo originally from Venezuela and now based in Barcelona, bring their own specific flavour to one of the album highlights, 'Egoist'. Their remix is a stripped down driving techno cut with a deeply acidic undertone.

Olivier Giacomotto, the techno producer from Bordeaux, France, provides a electro infused rework of 'Vertigo', adding sharp
808 patterns, a thick cut groove, and eventually some deep pads to his version.

'Malaria' gets the treatment by SHADED who drops his Dark Stab mix. Skyler Patrick Taugher, the Californian behind the
SHADED moniker, brings a particularly tough mix for one of Huntemann’s key tracks - a sure fire peak time winner.

Another album highlight 'Doppelgänger' is remixed by Berlin resident and Upon You boss Marco Resmann, adding layers of
dynamic rhythym with which to counterpoint his edgy pads and deep synth touches.

'Trick17' is giving a mix by Senso regular Distale. A filthy, low roller with fathoms-deep sub bass and and sparkling percussion.

The young Russian Maksim Dark adds his own interpretation of 'Poltergeist' to the release, edging up the darkness a little
more and producing a growling, tough techno workout that will go over big on a lot of floors this year.

The man from Rostock, Carlo Ruetz, provides a slick dub of 'Der schwarze Kanal’, stripping away any superfluous sounds
and setting the controls fort he heart oft he dancefloor.

This includes remastered versions of classic tracks like Dish Out Bum’s “Gak Trak” Chiapet’s “Tick Tock,” 2 Smokin’ Barrels’ “Basses Loaded,” and Timeline’s “Clockwork Orange,” as well as modern cuts like Victor Ruiz’s “Rollercoaster,” ANNA’s “Momentum,” Nicole Moudaber’s seminal remix of Alcatraz’s “Give Me Luv”, and Loco & Jam and Frankyeffe’s “Splitting Minds.” To spice things up, we’ve included three brand new remixes from Moonwalk, label regular Olivier Giacomotto, and Dubspeeka. GRAZZE has been quickly making a name for himself as one of Spain's most exciting upcoming producers, with a slew of releases on Anjunadeep, Einmusika, BeatFreak, Stereo Productions, Zerothree, and more. We're excited to have him join the Yoshitoshi family now with 'Virah,' a single that blends ethereal, highly textured production with gorgeous vocals and killer songwriting. It's melodic techno with pop sensibility, and it's a formula for perfection. Joining GRAZZE on the package are two remixers who are no stranger to Yoshitoshi, Olivier Giacomotto and D-Formation. D-Formation takes a nice and melodic direction with the track, with warm, filtered arpeggios and layered percussion that wouldn't feel out of place in a Burning Man set. Olivier's remix brings the techno elements up a notch, giving us a darker, more driving mix better suited for cavernous rooms. Olivier's bass notes feel like the pulsing heartbeat of some gigantic beast, contrasting the beautiful simplicity of the pads and vocals on top of it.
