Oljus - Februari

From "MMXV", an ongoing album/project throughout 2015. Oljus will release one song at the end of each month, drawing inspiration from the local surroundings during that month. This will be reflected both in the artwork and in the music (via field recordings and similar).

The Swedish artist Louise Lemón has a sound that is described as death gospel. Highly intense, soulful with intimate lyrics. When playing live she evokes a massive, fateful sound with only a few ingredients consisting of pounding drums, organs and screeching guitar.
With raving reviews for the live shows one of the biggest newspapers in Sweden, Dagens Nyheter, called her the answer to the future music and Folkbladet was completely knocked out, describing her voice as black as the sin, clear as a fjord.
The EP Purge which is expected to be released early 2017 on the Swedish label Icons Creating Evil Art was recorded in a cabin in the deep woods of Dalarna and then mixed by Randall Dunn (Thurston Moore, Sunn o))), Earth) in the iconic Avast studios in Seattle, US.
The first single Thirst is debuing together with a music video recorded in Barcelona together with the production team 389. Louise has been based in Barcelona for quite a while, making it her second home.
