Slipping Away is a song about the hesitancy in current society about opening up about mental illness. It takes the position of someone in a long term relationship worrying about pushing their partner away by opening up about their health, and in the process letting their thoughts run wild and worrying that the relationship is over.

This is a song that is about helping someone through a bad time and just generally being good to one another.

Safe With Me

It's a melancholic song about a break-up and someone not wanting to leave but knowing that they have to go; thinking of how they could have been a better partner and just wanting to take back the words that they said when they left. Throughout the song, they are tormented with the memory of the last time they saw their partner, but towards the end of the song, there's a glimpse of acceptance. It's a situation that I'm sure a lot of us have been through and can relate to.

"Emilia is a powerful song that is loosely based around my own experiences of being separated from my partner during the COVID-19 lockdown. The song looks at a couple that are living across the country from one another in this time and focusses on the emotional toll this is taking from both view points. The overall message that presents itself towards the end of the song is to just keep holding on and to look after each other in these difficult times."

I'm Not Coming Back

'Ready' is a song about forgiveness and starting afresh and opening yourself to be loved and to love again. It's a song about a couple that have rekindled a flame that had been going out for a while. I started writing the song just focussed on the idea of a couple laying in the same place they had on their first date and counting imaginary stars on their ceiling.

As we find ourselves in the middle of a pandemic and no-one is sure if they'll see loved ones at Christmas this year, me included, it only seemed appropriate to write a Christmas track about this interesting situation we find ourselves in. It's produced in a very minimalistic way to reinforce this feeling of loneliness, however with most of my sad songs there is a glimmer of hope; with the words at the end of each chorus, 'we still have next year'.

This ghostly tune came to me one rainy day whilst drinking my morning coffee. The song is about a young female actress trying to make it in the world but after getting knocked down so much she becomes isolated. There's also a heavy emphasis on mental health and how you never really know what anyone else is feeling on the inside. I may have gone down this route due to the rain pouring against the window (which features in the record) or due to the reality of coming to grips with my own struggles.

Bringing something different to folk music with his distinctive warming vocal tone over heart-felt Beatle-esque lyrics, Ollie Bond is taking the UK folk scene by storm. With his music sounding like a blend of Passenger, Gregory Alan Isakov, Bon Iver & The Lumineers, Ollie writes about various situations that we all find ourselves in and can relate to: including heartbreak, isolation and love. 

In 2018, Ollie supported Ronan Keating, The Neville Staple Band, Hazel O'Connor & Tony Christie on the main stage at Godiva Festival, at the time the largest free festival in the UK. Ollie returned to the festival in 2019 to headline the acoustic stage and play the BBC stage. 
 
Ollie has been lucky enough to reach the finals of national competition ‘OpenMic UK’ at the London O2. He’s also been nominated 4 times for an NMG award including 'Best Acoustic Act' and 'Best Male Artist'.

Ollie had a busy 2020 releasing a string of singles, receiving praise from various music blogs including Thank Folk For That , BBC Introducing and Mahogany Sessions. 2021 is no different, after moving to Edinburgh, Scotland he has some new songs on the horizon.
