One Way Out

UK based, indie-ambient folk, singer-songwriter Ollie Dixon has become well known on the South West music scene. With 2019’s debut EP (favorited by BBC Introducing) Here & Now and the success that followed a year of touring, playing major festivals and venues across the UK it closed with the pandemic grinding to a halt. Through 2020 into 2021 Ollie spent most of the past year writing, playing small shows and sought out band member(s) Lee Croad, who helped shape and evolve his sound into something new and unique. 

After playing a few prestigious festivals in 21’ such as Between The Trees in Wales, Ollie and Lee set out recording the new EP, Islands set to be released early 2022. With the new single due on Jan 14th 2022. Inspired by the likes of Bon Iver, Daughter, Bear's Den and Novo Amor, these new songs are a big stepping stone in his career. Blending indie acoustic folk and ambient-indie/folk-rock, With atmospheric & ambients (from the likes of Vaudlow, We Lost The Sea and This Will Destroy You). Mixing these two genres together they have created a very unique, emotional, energetic yet intimate and chilled sound. Not straying too far from the ‘true roots’ of his acoustic music Dixon believes this is his best and most proud work to date.

2022 is set to be a busy year, full of continuous new music, UK tours, prestigious festivals and supporting well known artists.

Ollie has got a voice that stretches back through the ages, with a nod to Ben Howard, Jack Johnson and Xavier Rudd but with a unique slant and structure and progression to his songs arguably more compelling than any of those three. Evocative vocals with a gorgeous tone and some seriously accomplished guitar playing, these are songs equally suited to fading out with in a hot sunny festival field as holing up in a darkened room with a broken heart. Ragged Mile is a beautiful EP and Ollie is a very special artist.
