"I scribbled these lyrics down on the first day of spring in 2023. My flatmate and I had been sick for a month, I was finally strong enough to pick up my guitar and play this little mantra of a riff. These lyrics take place in Nevada City, California, at the cemetery on the top of the hill, where my dearest friend and I would picnic and visit the grave of a long-gone infant. Once, under the moonlight, we brought my harp up there and I played for the dead. We’d read poetry to each other and to the residents, discuss our sadness and our gratitude, say hello to the man who was living in the 100-year old ponderosa above us that would eventually be chopped down by PG&E. This song is for the friend who brings poetry everywhere, to everyone. I have more than one version of baby blues, all of them are for her." - meka

I sing "Sleepin’ Under" with raw emotion, my voice carrying the weight of longing and danger. The song is built on the deep pulse of my guitar and bass, weaving a hypnotic rhythm that feels both seductive and haunting. The groove is steady, bluesy, with a touch of noir—like a slow walk down a neon-lit alley at midnight.  

The guitars whisper and howl, soaked in reverb and grit, sliding between sultry melodies and dark, brooding chords. The bassline moves like a slow heartbeat, thick and steady, holding everything together while the vocals rise and fall like waves in a storm.  

Each verse draws you deeper into the intoxication of desire—an obsession that feels as thrilling as it is dangerous. The lyrics drip with temptation, wrapped in the smoky atmosphere of late-night tension. By the time the chorus hits, the sound swells, pulling the listener into a whirlwind of passion and consequence.  

"Sleepin’ Under" isn’t just a song—it’s a mood, a world where danger and seduction blur into one. It’s the sound of losing yourself, slipping under, and loving every second of it.

From his home town of Exeter, U.K. Ambient Indie-Folk artist Ollie Dixon creates beautiful, distinctive soundscapes, rich in limitless imagery and lyrical introspection which is pure musical escapism.  This is explored further within his music videos, cover artwork and merchandise which depict the visual inspiration behind his music, the landscape, towns and coastlines he considers home.

Since first appearing on the scene in the early 2020s Ollie has continued to impress. His music is regularly featured on BBC Introducing In the South and West including twice making ‘Upload of the Week’ and has been selected by Absolute Radio as their ‘Self Released Artist of the Month’.  In 2024 he received U.K. Arts Council backing for the creation of his latest EP ‘ Rebirth’ set to be released through 2025.

The leadout single from the EP ‘Byegone’ has been included on ‘The A List’ new music playlists on Amazing Radio and reached number 2 in the Amazing Radio New Music Chart.  New single ‘Solace’ has made the UKs Amazing Radio and Future Hits Radio ‘A-list’ and in April 2025 trended worldwide on Soundcloud hitting the number 1 spot on the platforms folk trending playlists.

Both Solace and Byegone have had plays on BBC Radio Devon, Cornwall, BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Introducing South West and Solace has been featured by Fresh On The Net on their Fresh Faves list.

Singles ‘St Agnes’ and ‘Harbour’ featured on Spotify’s Editorial playlists ‘Fresh Finds Folk and New Music Friday and ‘Harbour’ was selected by Fresh On The Net as one of their top 10 tracks, secured a number 1 in the iTunes chart in Norway, The Netherlands and selected by BBC Introducing in the South West as their ‘Hotly Tipped’ track of the week.

Since selling out a debut headline show at the Exeter Cavern at the end of 2023, Ollie has continued to tour the U.K and Ireland, with a number of sold out live performances including headline shows in Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, London, Brighton, Bristol and Cornwall.  He has secured support slots for a number of international artists including Steph Strings, Max Pope and Jack Botts, played at a number of the U.K. festivals including Boardmasters, Between the Trees and Oceanfest and headlined shows for Sofar Sounds Bristol and Belfast.
