The Illustration is a versatile producer and DJ based in Huddersfield and is tight knit with our friends over at BASSment and The Wub Club family whom he has become a key member of. Picking up drums and guitar at just age 9 he got the music bug from early before moving into electronic production at 14 making Grime beats with his brother. Only starting to take things more seriously in the last two years with a slew of both self releases and label releases across emerging labels such as Wang Records and Steppers Club, and of course with Forca on The Wub Club, he’s been able to show off both sides to his arsenal of UKG, Bass and his first love Grime. He’s already been included in DJ EZ’s Apple Music project which propelled him to more opportunities and put him firmly on the radar of the likes of DJ Q, Conducta and AC Slater who have supported his output since, and has gone on to work with other high flying UKG artists Oppidan and Drinks On Me as a result. Having been on our radar for a while, a demo finally landed which was perfect to head up our lead BSS slot with a view to getting Breeza back in the mix we think this one was meant to be.

Breeza is seen as a veteran to most now, making his name in an area and era packed of MC talent and crews, alongside the likes of Stayfresh and Invasion at the height of their underground Grime scene domination of the Midlands, from the BBC with Mistajam & DJ Cameo to more local settings such as Jaykae's iconic Birthday Set. Breeza often stood out from the pack by his choice of instrumentals on his freestyles across JDZmedia and P110 amongst other channels, often picking Bassline over Grime as his beat of choice, some of which amassed over 100k hits. Often heard in Spooky’s sets due to one of his most prized dubs ‘Merk It Like Spooky’, along with Butterz’ Royal T and DJ Pantha it shows the level of underground authenticity Breeza is working at. The last three years has seen him releasing music more prolifically than ever on a slew of reputable labels and alongside some big hitters, which has seen him getting swept up in the Speed Garage and Bassline crossover we are seeing today with regular support from the likes of Main Phase, spearheading the charge.

For this record we gave 6 of the finest producers in different styles an acapella and told them to make it into a track in their own way. They all killed it and I am really happy with this record. It has 6 awesome tracks all top notch material, all different but all unified in theme. 

This record has something to draw everyone in in and something else you never knew you needed. Phatworld come correct with a stone cold jungle slammer, Gash & Simteks juke treatment never fails to kill it, FFF does a retro yet modern jungle take, Ronin does some sort of future breakcore uncatergorizable but speaker stack crushing mix, Dr. Colossus does a version with a few switchups from tech darkside jungle to some sort of mariachi or New Orleans brass mash up madness and Kelvin Swine rounds it off with something I can only describe as amphetamine spaghetti western breakcore. 

This release was previously only available via a crowdfunding campaign and I am proud to finally put it out on general release. 

If you are a vinyl lover I highly recommend you get the record. It looks amazing pressed onto red wax and sounds great. Most of the vinyl was sold in the original crowdfunded release though so stocks are highly limited.
