Music, Will You Marry Me

This is Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' arranged for a Funk ensemble by myself.  I used the original themes of the song and manipulated them for further innovation and musical exploration. Michael Jackson - Thriller (Arranged for Funk ensemble)

Here is a title theme I created for an Arcade-style video game. The composition was inspired by the music of Terraria and other aesthetically similar games.  This is not the original soundtrack for Terraria and I have no connection with the franchise nor with the game studio responsible for Terraria(Re-Logic). I simply feel that this is the kind of game that my composition might suit. I hope you agree. Enjoy!

This is a very innocent and playful theme I wrote for a mobile game as part of my studies on a Udemy course.

Udemy Course Project 6 - Mobile Game Music

This is an original piece of video game music written by myself. Inspired by open-world RPGs, the excitement of exploration and the constant evolution of time, I've composed this rather upbeat orchestral piece in 6/8 and 6/4. I do not own the rights to the thumb-nailed image. It is taken from a game called Kingdom Come Deliverance but it seemed relevant to my accompanying soundtrack.

I'll be releasing a video game score/original soundtrack monthly in hope of greatly developing my composition portfolio in 2019. This will be the first of many. I hope you like it and as always, any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Time's Embrace - RPG Adventure Theme

Here's a demo recording of a new song I've written as a solo singer/songwriter called Bad Blood. It's the first track of what will hopefully be an album's worth of new original songs. It shall feature as part of 'For Better, For Worse' an album in which all songs explore who I am and why I am the person I've become, whether that's a good thing or bad thing.

Certainly one of my more serious songs!

Bad Blood

I decided to rewrite the music of Ubisoft's cinematic trailer for For Honor. It is a video game characterised by an ongoing war between three factions: the knights, the vikings and the samurai. Given the many cultural influences and musical flavours that characterise these factions, I decided this would be a good game to experiment writing a soundtrack for.

For Honor - War Torn (Trailer Music Rewrite)

Here is the original soundtrack for a game I worked on at Global Game Jam 2019 called Family Fisticuffs. The game sees you battling fellow family members over very trivial things. The theme of this GGJ was 'Home'.

I took inspiration from more traditional boxing settings and games such as 'Punch-Out' as I believed that would feed the comedy of the game.
The piece also features myself voice acting for the grandmother character. She counts in the battle.

This song in particular is inspired by a friend, a colleague and fellow singer/songwriter, Jim Chorley. It is also the first song I have recorded that features me playing the banjo!

Spark

I am currently in the process of creating a video game alongside Francis Paddock as part of Rustbucket Studios. The working title is Helios and this piece of music, written by myself is to accompany the opening cinematic sequence upon starting the game.

I hope you all like it and I'd like to give a big shout out to Francis for all of his artistic input. I'm looking forward to sharing more of the game in the coming months.

In response to finding out I would not be allowed to be present for the birth of my baby due to COVID-19, social distancing and living in isolation, I wrote a song for my little one, swearing not to miss another moment of his life.

My Baby

This is a song I've written about my beautiful, little Gran, Mavis Regan, who sadly passed away shortly after discovering she was going to become a great grandmother. Although her and my son narrowly missed the opportunity to meet each other, I thought it would be lovely to bind the two together with a song. The song explores how Gran will continue to live on through our memory of her and how those memories will be passed on, from one generation to the next. This lovely photo captures the moment she found out there was going to be an addition to the family. Although this has easily been one of the hardest songs I've ever written, I really hope it does her some form of justice.

Olly Lewis is a Composer, Performer and Teacher based in Southampton, UK. 
Although he has composed for musical theatre, short films and a variety of other forms of media in the past, he is particularly interested in composing music for video games.
