Hello there, 

Hereby presenting the 8th installament of Dee Dee’s Picks on Fade Radio. This month’s broadcast serves as an hommage to Der Kern bar, a bar situated on the Langestrasse in Zurich. This bar is particuarly significant to me as it was the starting point for many of my endeavours with Dee Dee's Picks in the Swiss German part. A venue, where laughs were shared, passion for records were enthused and bottomless beer glasses were consumed, is where I met many people that eventually got released or featured as a guest on my radio shows. Der Kern bar holds a special place in my heart, as I am sure to many others. Therefore the selection behind this mix revolves around the many records that we have played throughout the many evenings at Der Kern. A personal "best of" selecta, if you will.

Taking over behind the decks for this month's broadcast could not be fitted more adequatly with Fabian Stacoff aka Max Bunt. Fabian has been the face not only responsible behind the genesis of Der Kern logo, but also the preacher of obscure records that served as the soundtrack of many evenings through his residency at Der Kern. "Ólta Karawane are creating a halo of mystery. An alcoholic duo that once met each other waking up from a delirious state in front of a moscow liquor store. One lost his keys (along with his pants) the other his wallet (along with his jacket). But they still had some booze and when deciding what to do next they were ending up in the studio. Apparently there was a bunch of people digging what they did, so they released a bunch of edits for Maturre, I'm a Cliché and on Discos Capablanca. These guys are true punks, they’re not friends with anyone, nobody likes them, nor do they like anyone, no sympathy, no respect, just moscow street punk."
