This week on Ears Have Ears, hear an exclusive soundtrack contribution from Tilman Robinson – a composer, arranger, trombone player and sound artist based in Melbourne. Tilman enjoys making both personal and interpersonal sound works which abandon genre and embrace unique instrumental textures. He commonly uses trombone, piano, a no-input mixer and laptop.

Tilman has performed a diverse range of critically acclaimed projects both on home soil and overseas. His work has been commissioned by APRA, PBSFM and Melbourne International Jazz Festival, and created orchestral arrangements for acts like Sinead O’Connor and Tuomo, just to name a few!

This soundtrack is two pieces called "Everybody wants wealth until that one day / The dreams were a conscious decision".
"Everybody wants wealth until that one day" forms one part of a longer suite (The Agony of Knowledge) originally written for the 2014 Melbourne International Jazz Festival and commissioned by PBSFM. This version was produced and recorded for Ears Have Ears. "The dreams were a conscious decision" was exclusively written and recorded for Ears Have Ears and contains sounds collected on glaciers in Iceland and Canada in the winter of 2013. Credit also to James Gilligan for his acoustic bass guitar and Moog Taurus contributions to the piece.
