Every evening she went to visit the muggy, rocky caverns. Each step was meticulously placed, the safe path fully mapped out in her head at this point. But still — one wrong move and she could easily be swept into the seemingly bottomless void below. Tonight the roundtrip journey would take hours, but she carried on, one mindful step at a time. The echoes of her pattering feet became quieter. The light became dimmer as shadows began to swirl. The thick, humid air turned frail and bitter. Just when a shred of fear began to tickle her neck, a familiar warmth reached out and offered itself as a guide through the dark. Her feet lifted off the ground as she was beckoned into the dwelling of her beloved.

Hot on the heels of RITA BASS’s debut double single via 56K Records, the Naarm (Melbourne) based artist has enlisted the meticulous talents of Toronto producer Ciel to remix 'Shaped Curve', taken off the B-side of the release. Ciel, who has previously released on Shanti Celeste’s Peach Discs and co-runs her own Parallel Minds imprint, delivers a nostalgic dub that transforms the original from pop to UKG-laced IDM. Keeping it drenched in emotion, like RITA's OG version, this stripped-back take makes for a perfect sunrise closer.

I met Dan at Sustain-Release in 2018 and have been nipping at his heels ever since. His work with Brooklyn-based rave outfit Sweat Equity provided a blueprint for us early on and he was one of the first remixes we commissioned for Sorry Records. His music has moved us throughout the years too from countless solo releases to his work alongside Austin Peru of Vision Fortune on their collaborative experimental ambient leaning project Dekalb Works. Dan's a constant joy and thankfully consistent presence in both our lives and on the NYC dancefloor. He's also dirty at bowling. We're so happy to present this latest release from Planet D complete with insane remixes from our own Drummy (Kindergarten Records) and west coast breakbeat legend Bassbin Twins.

Soreab returns to Control Freak for a full length white label release - a masterclass in organic, dubbed-out, dancefloor psychedelia, featuring live recordings by sound artist and modular percussionist Cinna Peyghamy, following a recent collaboration with Azu Tiwaline. 

As a DJ, producer and co-founder of Baroque Sunburst, Italian-born Soreab has been a mainstay of London’s underground electronic music scene for over 5 years. On ‘Teleportation’, he manipulates and twists Cinna’s deft percussion work into a distinct range of UK styles, ranging from 170bpm euphoria to subby, half-time explorations from the school of FWD and Plastic People. 

On the B2, Jay Duncan (Phantasy Sound / Intergraded) takes a decidedly minimal tack with her remix of ‘Untitled 1’, with deep, dubby chord stabs and immersive rhythms for late night dancefloor revelations.

Axces Recordings is releasing their second various artist release “Trip Wire EP”. Compiling 4 different tracks from 4 different artists focussing on minimal experimental techno club music. The record premieres Søren Kinch aka CX alongside the usual gang: Alfredo92, Kasper Marott and Popmix.

Trip Wire’s 4 tracks all have common denominators of being moody, trippy and darker than the usual Axces euphoria. All composed from an idea of linearity, whether it being the straightforward grooviness of the track IZA, the 8 minute suspenseful robotic tantra workout in Kasper Marotts “Welcome” or the more laid back in the sofa, über minimal parade in Popmix’s Ultima. With the opener track “Sjunne” Sørens Kinch or CX makes a promising debut. The track is ultimately the most romantic piece of music on this next edition of Axces music frisbees, with swirling pads and a kick drum that goes deep as the ocean.

North London-based producer and Reprezent Radio DJ RALPH, delves into the depths with an intricate, breaks-heavy future anthem.

In the heart of the ancient forest, a community of druids thrived under the guidance of their wise leader, Ralph. With their deep connection to nature, they harnessed the power of the land to weave spells that protected their realm. One fateful night, a vivid and lucid dream swept through the forest, foretelling an impending darkness that would engulf their home.

Ralph convened the druids to decipher the dream’s cryptic message. As they meditated, the forest responded with whispers, revealing that a malevolent force sought to drain the life essence of the land. Determined to thwart this threat, Ralph and his druids embarked on a journey to gather the rare and powerful components needed to cast a protective spell.

Ralph led his companions through treacherous terrain and faced formidable challenges. They channelled their innate magic through their shared connection and Ralph’s leadership, fusing their energies into a potent incantation. The spell enveloped the forest, repelling the darkness and preserving the realm’s harmony. Ralph’s lucid understanding of the dream had saved their sacred home, affirming the druids’ unbreakable bond with the land.
 

North London-based producer and Reprezent Radio DJ RALPH, delves into the depths through his dark and emotive palette. With a background in filmmaking – he was part of Boiler Room’s eponymous events imprint – he’s worked alongside notable artists. Lockdown led RALPH to craft introspective music, reflecting on the contrast between the once-thriving electronic scene and the pandemic-induced creative isolation. The resulting TIME EP merges narrative-driven electronica, influenced by his directorial pursuits.

We’re premiering the lead cut Lucid, an intricate breaks heavy future anthem.

Known for his hardware-harnessing live shows and acidic jams, the Bristol-based Miles Otto’s ‘Skitter’ EP is alive with propulsive electro rhythms and dreamy synth melodies. ‘CV Swizzly’  grabs your attention with its wistful analogue tones and percussive crunch, before a burbling bassline burrows through the arrangement, while the 303-laced ‘Vectron’ takes cues from Detroit electro with its menacing riffs and eerie synth drifts. ‘Skitter’ itself subtly reveals its details layer by layer, with crisp drum machine hits and low tones opening out into mystic harmonies, and Plant43 recasts ‘CV Swizzly’ in his distinct image, adding metallic synth bass and urgent keys to finish the EP in fine style.
