The Last Day Of 2023

This auditory composition has been methodically constructed by utilizing acoustic properties of common objects. Sound samples were extracted from various sources, including the vibrations of dinner plates, the tensile strain from ropes securing a drawer, the contained particles in a Kinder egg, and the graphite friction of pencils on a surface. Additionally, the track employs a distinct technique where a microphone is placed within a confined space, notably a box, to capture and analyze the resonance patterns. The consequent arrangement provides a systematic exploration of everyday acoustics in a structured musical framework.

A psytrance inspired track, with melodic elements captured from a Nord stage electric piano. Groovy juicy basslines was extracted from a Moog Grandmother, and fun vocal chops emitted from my parents in law, visiting Norway from the US during Christmas. The track is an evolving journey. Enjoy!

An EP with experimental an intuitive production process, allowing human-induced live modulation during trance-like sequence segments, unscripted and free-floating music that moves wherever it may. The first wave of resistance to artificial intelligence (AI) saturating the market of mainstream music in the near future, where people seek back to the roots for human connection and music styles that are not common in AI training data. Rust and reverie

I played around on the piano in the living room. Further I added some crispy percussion, digitakt textures, and a bit of smooth synth sounds, and lastly my voice recorded at 192kHz then stretched to fit a 44.1kHz project to get that super slow low tone at high quality. enjoy :D

Omapots is an electronic music producer from Norway. He merges his science background with a deep interest in sound, and utilizes both passion and scientific principles in exploring new sound textures. Analog synthezisers and Eurorack setups play a large role in the sound design process accompanied by organic recordings, such as birds or laboratory equipments in part of the sculpting process of experimental flavours. 

The creator of Omapots is also a co-founder of Nemø, alongside the artist Dharma Das. Nemø is a cutting-edge psytrance project, blending zenonesque and progressive psytrance with innovative approaches to how the genre can evolve and be expressed.

As a collaborator with RaveLatefest [link: linktr.ee/ravelatefest], Omapots has made his mark at Oslo Bar & Scene, showcasing his dedication to expanding the realms of trance and electronic music.
