2013 saw Silicone Soul celebrating the 10th Anniversary of their Darkroom Dubs imprint. Launched in Glasgow back in 2003, the DRD stamp has become a mark of quality and seen many established names exploring deeper realms whilst also unearthing fresh and exciting global talent. 

From Fabric to Watergate, The Standard Rooftop to Club Bahrein Buenos Aires, the Scottish duo have celebrated their disco-decade with a string of '10 Year' parties spread across the last 12 months, building on Darkroom Dubs already strong global reach. 

To round off their birthday in style Craig and Graeme have asked some of the label's main acts and strongest supporters to contribute a track for a new compilation. Artists including jozif, Ryan Crosson, Uner, Gary Beck, Of Norway, and Simon Garcia all feature in the collection that Silicone Soul present as a snapshot of the future sound and musical vision of Darkroom Dubs.

Elemental Vol. 1 moves through earth, air, fire, and water not as metaphors but as emotional states. The songs drift like weather systems, mixing tenderness with atmosphere - acoustic guitars and field-warm vocals meeting the pulse of understated techno rhythms. The production is deliberately porous: wood and wire breathing alongside soft synths and spectral drum-machine traces. It's an "acoustic techno" album in the sense that rhythm and resonance share the same dirt. The songs carry the physical textures of wind in rafters, gravel underfoot, or rain on a roof, yet they shimmer with digital light. This meeting of folk intimacy and electronic timbres gives the album its peculiar gravity - part back-porch confession, part after-hours heartbeat.

Lyrically, Elemental Vol. 1 abandons conventional pop architecture. Instead of verse–chorus–bridge repetition, each piece unfolds as a field poem - free-form, continuous, and responsive to its own inner weather. The writing treats structure as tide rather than grid: refrains return when they need to, not when they're told to. This openness lets the language breathe in sync with the natural imagery that drives it - storms, light, stone, silence - and invites listeners to inhabit the songs as evolving spaces rather than predictable forms. Across the various mixes of its six song poems - We Learn the Sky, Don't Sightsee This Heart, Be a Storm in Me, Til the Heat Is Gone, You Happen Like Weather, and Wild Gifts - the album traces the cycles of intimacy and impermanence, finding in their motion the same quiet power that turns seasons, wheels, and hearts.

The Fur Coat Remix is more housey and club-orientated. Delete & Israel Sunshine aka Fur Coat spread their funk influenced and forward thinking house vibes all over the track. After releases on Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical these guys have hit top form with another spacey and brilliant production. This remix is for the underground house-heads that enjoy a phat sub groove. 

The Hot Since 82 Remix shows why Daley Padley aka Hot Since 82 has made a name of himself in no time at all. Another fantastic moody journey into his twisted mind with amazing producing skills. This remix actually sounds like it could've been collaboration between Toky and his electronic mentors Tale Of Us. This is the best Hot Since 82 remix to date. It makes the 8 minute journey worthwhile and will give you a hard time choosing a favourite version from this immense package. Get into the circle and play some quality stuff...... Behind this moniker hides two well known producers, Frank Beckers from D-nox & Beckers and Sandrino Tittel from Lemonpopsicle and White Rabbit fame. Coming together in the studio was no coincidence as the guys have known each other since years in the Ruhrpott area in the heard of industrial Germany.

We Are All Dust is surely their finest moment so far - starting deep and teasing this is one of those tunes which gives you shivers even if you spent the last 30 years on the North Pole or some far located desert. Big smiles on the floor are granted as the emotional theme drops and the track builds and builds.

For remixers our good friends Marcus Worgull from Innervisions and Raxon from Audiotonic delivers their own vision of We Are All Dust.

Marcus re-edits the original parts into a even more teasing version, keeping much of the original flow but dropping midway to a great break where hands are surely to go up.

Dubais brightest, Mr Raxon from Audiotonic and 360 fame takes another route, dropping a massive baseline and dubbing out the parts to one his trademark floor burners.a

To end the EP in fine mode, Frankey & Sandrino offer you Echoes, a perfect slice of piano driven, percussive dub house disco which perfectly shows the craftsmanship these gentleman offer.
