No stranger to the London label, the DJ and producer from Brum has been a firm favourite at Defected shows worldwide for many years, from its flagship festivals to major club nights alike. His releases across the Defected family of labels have also seen major club play, from ‘This Is The Sound’ on DFTD to ‘Bullerengue’ with Crusy on Defected. For his latest label outing, Low Steppa collaborates with Capri, an artist whose tracks have been supported by Mark Knight, Sam Divine, Darius Syrossian and Dombresky, with more releases on tastemaker labels scheduled for 2025. Capri captured Low Steppa’s attention with a remix of his track ‘The Feeling’ on the influential producer’s Simma Black imprint, and now the two deliver ‘Got The Funk’, a seriously hypnotic belter set to do major club damage - already supported by the likes of Barry Can’t Swim, Eats Everything and Danny Howard.

Following the success of our 5 Years VA, we’re thrilled to announce Part 2 of the celebration, a special remix project reimagining the Transparent Audio discography through the lens of some of our favourite artists in the scene right now. This release is a huge moment for us, bringing fresh energy and new perspectives to the music that’s defined our journey so far.

It's a perfect representation of the Transparent Audio sound, blending deep minimal grooves, soulful liquid textures, rolling rhythms, and everything in between. Each remix captures another aspect of what the label is all about: forward-thinking production, musicality, and a shared passion for pushing drum & bass forward.

This project not only celebrates how far we’ve come but also rounds off our five-year milestone and closes out 2025 in true Transparent Audio style. We’d like to extend our deepest thanks to all the incredible artists involved in this project. A staple of the new generation of Dallas DJs, Omar Mustafa operates on a broad pallet of club music from drum and bass to house and techno. His devotion to the culture and audience-focused background allows him the unique ability to adapt each set to the party at hand.

During the later half of 2009, Mustafa began his career working as a promoter with the infamous Afterlife nightclub. He found his love for mixing and began getting bookings fairly regularly. Since then he’s had the opportunity to guest DJ for just about every DJ crew in Dallas and at venues across the city such as Green Elephant, Wit’s End, Beauty Bar. 

His dedication goes beyond the art of mixing. Mustafa's start in booking and promotions has given him a unique insight on the amount of work that is put in behind the scenes. When he is not mixing, he can be found out and about supporting the local scene at various weeklies and events most days of the week. 

Omar Mustafa is currently affiliated with Motif Dallas and the Dallas chapter of M.I.A. - the largest drum and bass collective in America. He’s a frequent guest at Two:Tone’s drum and bass weekly and also weekly show on ActiveSessions.FM.
