In Focus with us is Adam Wood a.k.a. the BEATFARMER, to harvest some thoughts, passions and sounds growing in his fields.

Beatfarmer, aka Adam Wood, was born in England, and has lived and travelled to many places in the world, taking in the sights and sounds of different cultures and people. He now lives in the woods on a raw, west coast island where his homesteading lifestyle keeps him connected with the earth. This connection shows through his music, which incorporates ethnic and tribal sounds with modern electronic beats capturing the energy and beauty of the world he loves.

Adam's musical training began at an early age with the violin, training at the Suzuki music school. He continued playing classical violin solo and in orchestras through his high school years, when he began experimenting with other instruments and styles. A love of popular music developed in his high school years, and continued into his adult life. In 2005, an intentional dance celebration came to the small island that is Adam's home. It opened his eyes, ears, and heart to a new and beautiful world of electronic music and dance. Beatfarmer dj'd the opening set at the next celebration that came to the island, which gave him a new outlet for his love of music. Since then he has played many shows in the Victoria and south coast intentional dance scenes, and also has become a regular dj at community celebrations on the island as well. He has developed a passion for mixing organic world music with electronic beats and takes great care in crafting his sets for individual shows. In 2009 Adam started producing his own music, a style which he calls tribal trance. Like his Dj sets, his original productions are filled with natural sounds, chanting, and organic percussion, connecting the listener with the traditions of the past, through the sounds of the future. Producing at his off grid island home, he has released 4 full length cds, the last 2 being released on Ovnimoon Records. Mantra was released in 2012, reaching number 6 on psyshop's CD chart and a new downtempo CD entitled "Eye of the Storm" came out in 2014. There is also a growing body of inspired remix work, including his remix of "Carpet Breaker", released on Adham Shaikh's Refractions remix CD and a remix of Khumba Mela for the Desert Dwellers' "Nomadic Ecstatic" ep…

Beatfarmer believes in the power of the trance state to strengthen our spirits and bodies and likes to access this through dance and music. Adam is an active member of the intentional dance community on the south coast. and strives to create opportunities for positive, intentional celebration where people can safely activate their higher self with movement, sound and community. Through dance, we strive to bring an increase in consciousness and awareness though to our daily lives.
Bringing mind, spirit and body together. Combining energy, healing, beauty, balance, organic sounds and ancient incantations, beatfarmer will move your body to dance and your spirit to soar. Whether it's a world fusion set, a deep trance journey, or sacred downtempo… beatfarmer plays for the dancers.

Perceptions (Wahrnehmungen) differ, depending on your personal setting. And I like it a lot to meet people that break through usual thinking. People who help expand my own horizon. It’s challenging to recap what you experience as right or wrong. Reality (Wirklichkeiten) are highly perceptual and pluralistic. Optimists perceive a totally different reality than pessimists. There are infinite possibilities (Möglichkeiten) in there. With that in mind it is possible to be open and tolerant for new situations and people.

Bagaluten is a tribute to the KG9.

The first song „Away“ starts dark with choppy guitar licks, chants and arpeggios, repeating, twirling and pulling you in, drawing you deep into its rhythmic african  world.

A warm percussive piece, underlined by deep bass and shaky synths, warping and weaving in and out.
Schweben’s „Away“,a sample of Merlui Miranda’s „Pamé Daworo“, Ogoya Nengo and The Dodo Women’s Group’s „Kadana“ have been worked into the track.


„I bought a Shotgun“ the infamous Screamin’ Jay Hawkins used by 
sample trio „Den Sorte Skole“, returns to stage.
Based on the pounding guitar pattern of Damon’s Song „Did You Ever“
Maugli kickstarts his second track with a bass and a beat that gets your teeth churning and shakes you to the bone.
With delightful twists and turns the track becomes a catchy 
headbanger that is hard to resist.

She recently released her new album entitled Ivory Castanets available to the public shortly via Cinematic Music Group. On listening, one can easily recognize the classic folk style sounds with a rather soft rhythm, but sometimes tinged with a touch of rock. His album is perfect for the summer, perfect to listen to on a sunny afternoon on a terrace or for warm evenings spent outside by the fire. The singer's voice is naturally soft, but quite dynamic in some songs where she offers a fuller range of notes as in the song Running Water where the singer projects vibrant and warm vocals. His album gives a new colour to the soul that we recognize in the choice of numerous and diversified instruments. The themes addressed are at times bonasses and at other times shouting, which gives a very personal character to the artist. She sings for herself, for the pleasure of the music and the sensations it gives her, and you can hear it in her lyrics and voice intonations. My &quot;chouchou"; song from the album is undoubtedly Mama Said with its rocking melody, but also catchy and very bohemian. Cat Clyde will appeal to folk lovers above all, but also to all those who love an album where softness and rhythm are perfectly combined.
