Victor Ruiz - Live Set At Fusion Festival 2014

Echoes from Hambach is a miniature piece related to her older sister A Day at Hambacher Forst. The original piece recounts the journey of composer Omer Eilam into the Hambach Forest which in the last 50 years has been obliterated for the sake of coal mining. The piece is a musical-storytelling journey capturing the spirit of the place and of the activists who dwell there in a desperate attempt to save it from destruction. In Echoes fragments of the original – namely the metamorphosed sounds of bells – are overlayed with a piano part which is similarly electronically transformed.

Dies sind 30 Variationen von Moritz Eggert über die 30 Variationen der "Aria mit verschiedenen Veränderungen BWV 988" von Johann Sebastian Bach. Sehr ironische und gewitzte Musik, mal derb, mal gefühlvoll.
Es spielt das Landesjugendensemble Neue Musik Berlin unter der Leitung von Jobst Liebrecht, ich am Soloklavier.

At the beginning of their adult lives, millennials are trying to find out what it means to be happy in their 20s, not knowing that they have no where to go but down. Meanwhile, three highly successful people find themselves at the bottom of life's happiness curve, and try to find their way back up. The show today is about a demographic inevitability, the midlife crisis, and how we seek happiness in the face of our approaching death. Two mid-lifers leave their careers to gamble on fulfillment, and one philosopher seeks answers to life's most common existential crisis. Guest voices include recent graduates of Vassar College, Philosopher Kieran Setiya, Neil Hayward, and Diane Hope.
