Doo Doo is a deep record. It pulls on the heart stings when you understand the story. This is my art and experience. I left my girlfriend in Virginia and went out to LA to work on what would become the Grapefruit Project. This was a trip I took by myself, stepping out on faith, without the immediate resources. It was a personal journey of self discovery and building my obedience and faith in God. On this journey I realized that I had presented a semi-false representation of my self in the foundational stages of my relationship. This self was born of a trauma that I had to be the hero in order for me to deserve love. This caused me to volunteer myself to solve all of my loves problems often at the overextension and detriment of myself. She never asked for that. Subconsciously it created strain on me and a deep seated resentment was brewing. I felt it and decided to end our relationship.

Shortly after I felt free of something. I had acknowledged an emotion and allowed it to release and had taken a radical step in leaving my comfort zone and the one I loved. However there was still a shadow. I attended a Cacao ceremony and it led to me sobbing & weeping in my friend's arms. I was enlightened on her heart and the hurt I caused. Building a character that eventually dissolved and left her alone and abandoned. All born from my trauma. I felt like Doo Doo.

Produced by Chicago's Ro., "ghosted" is the second single from AUSAR's debut album I NOW KNOW. (also known as "INK").

In spellbinding fashion, the Chicago native croons over piano synths, organs, and searing electric guitar riffs as he comes to terms with the emotions and people he's kept at arm's length. 

In this jolting yet haunting R&B ballad, AUSAR belts about ghosting past lovers, lazily maintaining friendships (that no longer serve him), and being callous about his emotions with himself and others. As the song crescendos, AUSAR oddly finds, in a twist of tales, that he's actually the one who's been ghosted (as he stands alone with his discomfort) — and must deal with the phantoms of his past if he's ever to find real, unbridled peace in his present.
