notes: funny story about this song, i was in this DREADFUL class called performance live in which we learn about instruments and shit, and one day this white lady came in to talk to us about native african music - and while i hated her she brought along a cool instrument called an "mbira". i found the timbre and tone of the instrument to be beautiful so i went home and found the best mbira synth i could, played a little melody with it and laid it over a guitar sample, and threw some hip hop drums underneath it, and fell in love instantly, i finished the song over the next few months and this came out of it :) so i guess the lesson here is to pay attention in class
