Bio:
To deejaying I came via detours on the Way of St. James, in the summer of 2012. I mixed the tracks that accompanied me on my journey to create a DVD with memories in the form of pictures and videos. This is how my first Ableton Mix was created. In those days I was not aware of the potential behind this program. In the years before I produced my own tracks without any success. At nights I listened the same beat hours for hours. First live sets were created. But they never lived up to my expectations. What I like to hear is rare. The one beat where every note has its place. Crystal clear and driving.

Electronic music has always been an integral part of my life. In the 80s, influenced by my daddy and his love for Revox & Technics. The "Neue deutsche Welle" ran up and down. I like the sound of the synthesizers. Pink Floyd was always there acoustically. When Culture Beat, Snap and U96 appeared on the scene, I was finally influenced by my current music style. Enigma. Completely new tones. I am just thinking back to the time when I recorded mixtapes with my double cassette deck. The Hessentag '95 with Mark Spoon and Sven Väth comes to my mind. Or the annual live broadcast of Energy on Swiss radio. Even back then there were such incredibly cool sets and pieces. In school we dealed with tapes of the past weekends. Broadcaster like Evosonic, BBC Radio One and Sputnik now broadcast techno regularly. The clubnights with Talla, Taucher & DJ DAG were the non plus ultra. For me there was no other form of audible music.

With the first CD compilations like Trancemaster and Rave Mission I finally started to play in the late 90s. On 99 Penny events. A funny time. But I decided to celebrate. For listening. For the Rave.

The Millennium Energy was legendary. To celebrate the Love Parade in Berlin with one million people, unforgettable. Mayday and Sonne Mond Sterne Festival-just amazing. In the years around 2000, things got really intense. I left almost nothing out. Schranz! I miss the good old days a little bit, like dancing the soul out of your body on Sunday mornings at Nature One with DJ DAG. We're poisoned.

Thanks to internet and flatrate I only listened to Frisky Radio via iTunes. A completely new era. Via eDonkey there was sound for download. I simply didn't need anything else to satisfy my desire for good music. Sasha's first "Involver" album was the decisive factor for my style today. From now on, digital purity was in the foreground. For me, this music has become a way of life. The older I became, the more intense. That's how I sometimes have the feeling. What makes me especially happy is that techno has grown up with me.

Hello!

Welcome back once again to the Depth Perception Sessions.

This week we welcome US based artist Cheric to the show.

Bio:

Passion and consistency are the foundation of a true artist. What’s in a name or status compares not to a focused vision no matter the course of the journey. Eric “Cheric” Chen is a Queens, New York native whose vision of making music that keeps true to himself will never alter. Many artists conform to the norm and “the now,” but Cheric creates from the heart, whether he loves his work or battles the inner critic, he won’t deliver unless the music comes from his soul.

Cheric’s music explores the subtle and expansive natures of dance music and that’s landed him original releases and remixes on Click Amsterdam, Cinematique (Manual Music), Baroque, and Box4Joy (Incepto). His remix of Bella Mer’s “Loaded Gun” gained much praise for it’s deep, hypnotizing, progressive soundscape and the story behind it. "Loaded Gun is about the tendency to be drawn toward harm and a desire for danger... a moth to the flame. A world in which every archetype points a loaded gun at each others' heads in judgment and blame." Something many of us can relate to.

With the inner voice telling him to keep focus and stay on the grind, Cheric continues to progress forward as a true artist. An artist who accepts difficulties and successes all the same in order to manifest his vision of making music that keeps true to oneself.

Is a pleasure for me that he be part of this great adventure and can share with you this excellent session done by Superdeep channel. I hope you can have a magical musical moment. 

SEBB is born and based in Canada. Living the dream in the '90 dj'ing at various club he made a come back to the musical scene on MixCloud focusing on the deeper sides of house music. Having released more than 60 sessions on MixCloud over 3 years, he realized the producers of the tracks he was using into his session weren't getting enough visibility. He founded the After Hour Show in 2021 with the objective of promoting DJs, music producers and record labels around the world. The After Hour Show podcast is air on Underground Kollektiv global radio, EIbiza (France) and sebbradio.com every week. Recently he has joined the Keepers Of The Deep (KOTD), Abyss The Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio where he produces a monthly show. SEBB is also resident of The Underground Kollektiv. Progressive house and deep house is what he does best but he likes to explore other styles of music too.
