Hailing from the brooding yet beautiful city of Szeged, Hungary, HRSPX brings a unique, deeply personal and richly textured sound to modern Drum & Bass, drawing from a life shaped by music, isolation, and exploration.

HRSPX’s musical journey began at the tender age of 6 when he was given a CASIO synthesiser. This ignited a fascination with sound that deepened when he started formal piano lessons at just 8 years old, developing a strong foundation in contemporary styles, nurturing his understanding of melody and rhythm. However, it wasn’t until a friend introduced him to Spor’s “Hydra” at the age of 12 that HRSPX discovered the high-energy, intricate world of Drum & Bass. This moment would prove pivotal, opening up a whole new universe that would shape his artistic identity.

Growing up in Szeged, HRSPX had limited access to the cultural and social experiences that many in the broader drum and bass community often overlook. Instead, he found solace and inspiration in the music of pioneering artists such as Spor, Receptor, DJ Hidden, Evol Intent, and Landscapers. These early influences became his “safe haven,” a mental escape that accompanied long, reflective walks around the town’s abandoned buildings. These surroundings fuelled his desire to create music, leading him to begin experimenting with production at 13. Through Virtual DJ, he began to experiment and replicate his favourite tracks from his favourite artists and shortly after, a friend introduced him to FL Studio, and it was at that moment the gates opened for the young budding producer.

While studying Contemporary Music & Media Arts at the University of Pécs, HRSPX explored Siberian folk music and folk-ethno-trap, performing at Germany’s FEEL Festival and collaborating with Hungarian rapper Dé:Nash. He also learned traditional instruments like the jews harp and kaval. Despite these ventures, HRSPX felt something was missing and returned to Drum & Bass, where he continued to hone his craft.

HRSPX achieved his first breakthrough with a release on YouTube label Bass Rabbit Recordings in 2021, followed by two more outings on the imprint in 2022 and 2023. His breakthrough moment came when he caught the attention of Evolution Chamber who saw potential in his innovative style, inviting him to contribute to their Transmissions series. His track “Gynura” in 2024 introduced listeners to his musical yet heavy production style, while “Antioch” in 2025 solidified his distinctive edge—earning his place in the Evolution Chamber roster and paving the way for his debut single.

“The Rumbling” opens with euphoric soundscapes that steadily build tension before launching into an explosive two-step bass assault, seamlessly transitioning into razor-sharp stabs that slice through the mix. This aggressive, high-energy journey offers a glimpse into HRSPX’s dynamic musical mind. The track’s precision and intensity highlight years of dedicated craftsmanship and a deep-rooted understanding of the genre’s complexities.

“Where It All Began” follows with HRSPX’s signature calm-before-the-storm euphoric intro, a tension-filled lead-in that drops into a rapid-fire call-and-response slugfest.
