Release number 36 with SANI NIMS and K3SARA from Sri Lanka. SANI NIMS is Sri Lankan DJ & music producer active on the music scene for the past nine years. He started his music journey in 2013 at Buba Beach Mt Lavinia in Colombo. His music represents a mixture of special and unique energy which he displays in genres from Melodic Techno, Progressive House, and Deep House. K3SARA aka Navin started his music career in 2020. K3SARA is producing music for labels such are Another Life Music and AH Digital, he is also a resident DJ at the Subcode radio station from the UK.

This EP also includes two fantastic remixes from Rudra SL and Zy Khan from the UK. Rudra SL is releasing music for labels such are RPO Records, AH Digital, and Massive Harmony Records. He is also very active as DJ in his homeland with regular events, and festivals. Zy Khan is a very experienced producer with many years in the music industry. He is also a mastering engineer and resident DJ on Subcode Radio from the UK. He is releasing his music on a label such are SLC-6 Music, Tanzgemeinschaft, Polyptych, and many others.

This EP is a pure progressive house and it shows the real face of talented producers from Sri Lanka. Again, we are very happy to have them on our Big Bells Records.

SANI NIMS, K3SARA - Zetro (RUDRA (SL) Remix) [Big Bells Records]

Rounding out the month of February, Ziger’s Eat My Hat Music welcomes Redspace to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Russia, Redspace first emerged in 2020 with a series of self-released projects. Immediately recognized for his club-friendly melodic sound, the fast rising phenom would go on to land releases via Area Verde, Freegrant Music, Pillar, Univak and more, while earning the praise of Ferry Corsten, John Digweed and Paul Van Dyk. Now, fresh off a remix for Droid9, Redspace debuts on Eat My Hat Music with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Ritual’. 

EP opener and title selection ‘Ritual’ finds Redspace operating at the peak of his creative powers. Fuelled by rhythm and groove; its chunky basslines, crunchy rhythms and tight percussive arrangements resonate on a transcendent level. Prophetic and tense across the first movement, the Russian artist adds atmosphere and depth through cinematic overlays and tasteful effects, ultimately creating a bridge into the main break. Sitting in a cosmic yet thought provoking space, arcane vocal samples eventually give way to an acid-like lead and waves of drums which unite for a groove-centric drop and charged finale.

The companion piece finds Redspace collaborating with Albanian artist Maze 28. Together the duo masterfully synthesize their talents into one singular melodic vision that is ‘Turquoise’.   From dark and mysterious beginnings come layers of exotic percussion and glowing arps which captivate leading into the break. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the duo reaffirm their musical prowess with trance-inducing chord changes and striking stabs, a union of sound which marries well across the interlude, only to be washed away for a thunderous drop and suitably melodic conclusion. A fitting end to a quality two-track affair from Redspace, an artist who continues to impress as we approach the year's second quarter.

A new artistic pairing to feature on Balance Music, Gabriel I & Rawbach join forces to present their 'Lost Sense’ EP.

One of Mexico’s leading electronic music exports, Gabriel I’s reach and influence extends far beyond the borders of North and Central America. With a raft of performances at gigs and festivals across more than 20 countries, it is no surprise to see Gabriel perform on the same line-ups with industry legends including Sasha, Digweed, Sven Vath and Hernan Cattaneo, while his “Mexiconnection” show has been a fixture on Ibiza Global Radio. In tandem, a production career has seen a century of credits next the Mexican artist’s name as BluFin, Marbs & Evan Casey’s Desert Hearts Black, Dave Seaman’s Selador, and Gabriel’s own Tenampa Recordings have all played host to a plethora of original and remix material in solo and collaborative guises. Similarly, Andrea Mariano has found an outlet for his creativity through his Rawbach moniker and a distinctive approach to sound design and synthesis. Creating “harmony and emotional pureness” from the “mathematical soul”, the Milan-based artist has been a regular on the likes of Natura Viva, Clepsydra and Emotive Sounds, since a 2018 debut for Dutch imprint, Click Records.

Most recently celebrating their 'The Purist' EP on Desert Hearts Black in mid-2022, Gabriel I & Rawbach come together on Balance Music with their 3-track 'Lost Sense'. The title track is characterised by a chunky rolling groove with mechanical sounding edge. Soft, textured pads provide the perfect juxtaposition as smooth melodic lines flow in melancholy fashion across the soundscape. Waxing and waning with dancefloor ease, stuttered and panned effects maintain a potent backdrop while sublime a delicate piano sequence reveals itself at the breakdown before dominant kick and dynamic percussion resume in the latter stages.

Characteristic rolling rhythms and angular percussion continue to radiate across 'Holy Land'. A filtered arpeggio scuds across the mid-range as a selection of immaculately curated sounds tell their own story over the 6-minute piece. Rasping synth leads and panned clicks and pops provide a dynamic energy that sits easily with smooth melodic elements. A sustained bassline and fizzing crescendo further add to the overall texture in an impressive work.

Immediately capturing attention with its growling, glissando bassline, a whip-cracking kick and hi-hat urgency provide dynamism to 'Primus'. A chorus of complementary synth lines and lead motif add to the dark and edgy feel that intensifies as it progresses. Mesmeric in execution, the track builds in a vibrant and fizzing energy that is sure to find favour with DJs across the globe.

With spine-tingling production work and a new 3-track EP, Gabriel I & Rawbach are able to discover a “Lost Sense”.

Echoes in the Rain - Deep House Instrumental DJ

The latest release from Tash’s Movement Recordings welcomes Emi Galvan back to the label for a brand new EP entitled ‘Wake Up’. The Argentinean artist has found a comfortable home on the Greek imprint since making his debut in December of 2012. A controlled release schedule coupled with creative excellence has always made the demand for Emi’s music quite formidable. Now following an excellent remix for Huminal, the Argentine returns to Movement for a brand new EP alongside remixes from Jorgio Kioris and Forniva.

Beginning with the title track Emi’s rich musical background becomes readily apparent as he crafts a dance floor creation for the ages. Built around a romping, funk filled groove it’s the melodic narrative which eventually grabs a hold of you. Delicate and emotive, it’s poignant themes evolve subtly into a wall of soulful harmonies and vibrant colour. A well crafted break is the icing on the cake with a drummy, tension filled build that is sure to capture the full attention of your dance floor. The companion piece ‘Dopamine’ proves to be the perfect complement with its wonky, modern flare. It’s bulbous beats and hearty groove command a big presence at the outset before a kaleidoscopic theme quickly takes you into hypnotic territory. Complementary harmonies play off the esoteric motifs, eventually reaching an emotive apex during the main break, paving the road to an exhilarating finale.
