Speed Dream

"At night, I dream of speed.
Enough speed to outrun my problems.
Enough speed to outrun my fears.
And in the days, as race my car through side streets and alleys.
I imagine the passing buildings are passing emotions.
I imagine the cars I pass are past relationships.
My car...a star

My speeed unmatched my any racer in this small town
Nobody can catch me.
I'll go as far as this highway can take me.

If you think you've got what it takes to beat her, bring your speed tonight. The location is secret. We don't want any pesky police crashing the party. But at midnight, follow the fireworks and you'll find us alright. I wonder if Mitomoro w-

"Hmmm. A secret street race? In Destiny City? It's meant to be! Alright Queen Elle. Get ready to be dethroned!"

*Crowd cheers*

Ai Ai:
"Great! Now...Queen Elle?"

Queen Elle:
"Ready!"

Ai Ai:
"Zenie?"

"Woah...Looks like Racer Cae is overtaking everybody! But does she have what it takes to pass up Queen Elle?"

Racer Cae:
*laughs* "I'm coming for you, Queen."

Queen Elle:
"Come Get me..."

Racer Cae:
*laughs while passing Queen Elle*

Ai Ai:
"Oh man! Racer Cae just overtook Queen Elle! Is Elle really about to lose her title to the new kid?"

*Racer Cae's car starts to break down*

Racer Cae:
"No...nonononono. Not now! Come oooon. Are you kidding me?"

Queen Elle:
*laughs* "Nice try."

*Queen Elle and all the other racers pass up Racer Cae stranded on the roadside trying to get her car to start*

"Oooh it was a close call there for a second, but we have our winner. Everybody...the prevailing queen of Destiny City Racers. Queen Elle!"

*crowd cheers*

Queen Elle:
"Thanks everybody. Hey. New kid..."

*Racer Cae walks up to the finish line from her stalled car*

Racer Cae:
"It's Cae."

Queen Elle:
"Right. Cae. You're a good racer. If your car didn't die, you might've had me."

Racer Cae:
"Yeah. Thanks. So when's our rematch then?"

Queen Elle:
"I'll tell you what. You get your car in racing condition again, you can have your rematch."

Racer Cae:
"Deal."

*cops start closing in on the finish line*

Ai Ai:
"Enough ChitChat. We gotta vanish. Fast!"

*All the Destiny City Racers run back to their cars and disperse*

Chapter VI - Finish Line

*Racer Cae walks into Doc O's body shop looking sad*

Doc O:
"Hey kiddo! Welcome to Doc O's bodyshop. What can I do for ya?"

Racer Cae:
"Hey so my car . . . uuuuuhhh-

Doc O:
"Oh. Let me guess. You've been racing with the Destiny City Racers."

Racer Cae:
"Uuuhh."

Doc O:
"No it's fine it's fine. I know all about em. Who do you think made the Mach QT?"

Racer Cae: 
"Mach QT?"

Doc O:
"Yeah Queen Elle's car. Haven't you ever heard of Queen Elle?"

Racer Cae:
"You MADE Queen Elle's car?!"

Doc O:
"Are you kiddin? That's some of my finest work!"

Racer Cae:
"Could you make my car as fast as hers?"

Doc O:
"This is a uuuhhh . . . this is uuhhh . . . 1996 Cloudsurfer. You're asking a mechanic to perform a miracle here."

Racer Cae:
"Oh so that's a no."

Doc O:
"Well know I've been known to work a miracle or two in my day. I mean the Mach QT? When I found it, it was a piece of junk. Alright, leave it here with your phone number and in a couple days maybe I'll call ya when I got summat for ya."

Racer Cae:
"Sure! Thanks a lot!"

Chapter VII - Doc O's Bodyshop

*Doc O begins working on Racer Cae's car*

Doc O:
"I tell ya. Kids these days. They don't understand what really goes into making a machine work. They just drop it off. They want you to fix it. They want you to wave a wand around and 'Zippity Zappity Zoopity Doopity' everything's all fixed."

Doc O:
"I tell ya these racers need to figure out how a car actually works. I mean I can make this thing driveable again but I dunno if I can make it as fast as the Mach QT."

one of Doc O's Assistants:
"You can do it Doc O!"

Doc O:
"Yeah I know I know! They're asking me to do magic in here. This stupid thing..."

*Both of Doc O's assistants start cheering Doc O on while he works*

Doc O:
"Zippity Zappity it's finished."

Chapter VIII - Zippity Zappity (Doc O's Theme)

Racer Cae:
"Heeeeey. Queen Elle? It's me! Cae."

Queen Elle:
"Hey Cae. You can just call me Elle. You fix that car of yours yet?"

Racer Cae:
"Workin on it. I left it at Doc O's body shop."

Queen Elle:
"Oh! . . . He's the one that built my ride."

Racer Cae:
"Yeah! The Mach QT, right?"

Queen Elle:
"Yeah! It's great. I can take you for a ride in it if you want since you don't have any wheels."

Racer Cae: 
"Woah really?"

Queen Elle:
"I mean sure. I'm still driving though. Come on. You might learn a thing or two."

*Racer Cae gets in the passenger seat and examines the interior of Queen Elle's car*

Racer Cae:
"Haha this is awesome! Woah . . . wait a second. Your car doesn't have seatbelts?"

Queen Elle:
"Nope. Now if I were you, I'd hold on."

[At night I dream of speed]


*Racer Cae's phone starts to ring*

Racer Cae:
"Oh hey hold on can you turn down the music? I think I'm getting a phone call."

*Queen Elle turns down the music and Racer Cae answers the phone*

Racer Cae:
"Hello?"

Doc O:
"Hey it's me! Doc O! Get back to the body shop ASAP. I think you're really gonna like this."

Racer Cae:
"Wow it's only been a few hours. Did you already fix it?"

Doc O:
"Just get back here and you'll see. It's not like you could've gone far anyway. I mean you don't have any wheels. What'd ya do -

*Racer Cae hangs up on Doc O*

Racer Cae:
"Hey Quee . . . I mean Elle. Can you drop me off back at Doc O's body shop. I think my car's ready."

Queen Elle:
"Oh! Sure."

Racer Cae:
"Hey . . . Thanks a lot for the ride."

Queen Elle:
"Yeah. Don't mention it."

*Racer Cae exits the Mach QT*

Queen Elle:
"Hmmm She's actually kinda cool."

*Police sirens sound not far behind Queen Elle*

Queen Elle:
"Ugh and that'll be Officer Jay. Right on time. Let's lose this piggy."

Chapter IX - Hold On

Dispatch: "We have a visual on the suspect headed west on Spring St. towards downtown. Officer Jay is in pursuit. All other officers remain on standby."

*Officer chases Queen Elle deep into downtown*

Dispatch: "Suspect is headed straight through Destiny Shopping Plaza-"

Officer Jay: *sarcastically* "Nice..."

Dispatch: "Officer Jay. Please proceed with caution."

*Officer Jay smashes through a shop window to get into the Destiny Shopping Plaza, following Queen Elle before losing sight of her*

Dispatch: "Suspect last seen exiting the mall and heading southbound on Electric Avenue."

Officer Jay: "Dangit!"

Queen Elle: *laughs*

*Officer Jay finally gets out of the mall heading down Electric Avenue, but unable to spot Queen Elle*

Dispatch: "We have lost visual on suspect."

Officer Jay: "Ugh...lost her again! You think you're above the law, Elle. But one of these days, I'm gonna catch you...you and every single one of your street racing friends."

Now remember, you gave me a 1996 Cloudsurfer so not really much to work with, but lucky for you a 2015 Cloudsurfer just got wrecked a few days ago so I thought 'Why don't I just put the parts from one into the other I MEAN it's not that simple. There's lots of fine-tuning and magic wor-"

Racer Cae: "WOAH! Is this my car?!"

Doc O: "Uuhhh you didn't let me FINISH, but yeah yeah this is your car. I call it the Sugar Glider."

Racer Cae: "It looks like a space ship!"

Doc O: "Trust me. This should be every bit as fast as the Mach QT. I mean with the right driver of course. I can't really take-"

*Racer Cae starts examining the car, in marvel of all of the upgrades, memorizing the name in her head while Doc O keeps talking*

*Racer Cae climbs into the car and starts it up*

Racer Cae: "Elle! Hey!"

Queen Elle: "Diggin the new ride. Told ya Doc O was good."

Racer Cae: "Yeah!"

Queen Elle: "What's it called?"

Racer Cae: "Oh! He called it the Sugar Glider."

Queen Elle: "Nice...so does that mean you're ready for the rematch?"

Racer Cae: "Woah. Right now?....I mean...sure."

*the two girls get into their cars and pull the the light exiting the pier*

Queen Elle: "Ok. On green."

Racer Cae: "Ready!"

*light turns green and both cars speed out of the pier and onto the streets in the afternoon sun*

Racer Cae: "Mama's Milk."

Queen Elle: "Oooooh Definitely not. Cops hang out at that spot. When you're really well known for illegal street racin-"

Racer Cae: "No...right. I get it. You wanna link up later?"

Queen Elle: "Deal."

*Racer Cae drives off towards Mama's Milk, leaving Queen Elle standing by the Mach QT*

*Ai Ai on a radio broadcast*

Ai Ai: "Hey racers! Ai Ai here. All the talk on the town has been about Queen Elle and her Mach QT racing some new mystery racer through the streets of Destiny City. It happened about an hour ago and rumors are circulating that the new mystery driver is the newbie Cae in some new ride. We've seen tons of cell phone videos of bits of the race, but no one seems to know where the finish line was or who won. Very interesting..."

Racer Cae: "Nope. I'm pretty new. What's your name?"

Officer Jay: "Oh. I'm Jay. Officer Jay."

Racer Cae: "Oh!" *whispers* "Elle was right..."

Officer Jay: "What?"

Racer Cae: "Nothing...nothing."

Officer Jay: "Well they know me here so don't worry about paying. I got you covered."

Racer Cae: "Oh! Are you sure?"

Officer Jay: "Yeah! Well I gotta go. They got me patrolling Mt. Cobra, but it was wonderful meeting you...uuhhh"

Racer Cae: "Oh. My name is Cae."

Officer Jay: " Oh. Cae. Nice. I hope you enjoy your time in Destiny City. If there's anything you need, here's my card. You can call me. But yeah, have a good day and try to stay off the streets at night. We've got a really bad street racing problem here."

Racer Cae: "Oh...right."

*Mama & Doc O bickering at the counter next to Cae drinking her Venomade.*

I guess we all should have taken her a little more seriously because with that new ride, it looks like she's about to really shake things up. In other news, several sources have said that they saw Officer Jay (the biggest thorn in our side of driving) off to patrol Mt. Cobra for the night and we're planning the biggest race yet in his absence. No word on the location, but you know the drill. Follow the fireworks at midnight. Ai Ai out."

Racer Cae: "But isn't that where Officer Jay's gonna be patroling?"

Queen Elle: "I mean...maybe. But who cares?"

Racer Cae: "Oh..."

Queen Elle: "Ya comin?"

Racer Cae: "I don't know how to drift."

Queen Elle: "No worries. You can ride passenger like last time. Maybe learn a thing or two from watching."

Racer Cae: "Oh yeah?"

Queen Elle: "Yeah."

Racer Cae: "Hey..."

Queen Elle: "Yeah?"

Racer Cae: "About Officer Jay. Do you know much about him?"

Queen Elle: "I know he's a cop."

Racer Cae: "Right."

Queen Elle: "And we're street racers."

Racer Cae: "Right..."
