It's been a loathsome day
trapped inside by my own accord
pacing around like i'm caged
in a house with one way doors
it's been a long reminder to temper hopes
because the ropes designer maintains his hold
at one end, starts pulling
until you're dragged back again
and who am i to cut the line
when my offer is so poorly timed that it just gets passed by

it's been a gruesome display
cross my arms and stare at the floor
i'm stuffing down what you say
in the cracks to be heard no more
it's been a long reminder to keep my course
because the roads designer maintains his hold
at one end, starts turning 
until you're doubled back towards him
and who am i to walk the line
when i am navigating blind?
