This session starts out dark and deep before soaking in some 93 hardcore vibes around the 35min mark. Later in the set, it’s back to the 1994 futuristic retro vibes to close things out.  For the sake of that ‘93 nostalgia, I included some Belmont Tunnel images.  For those who don’t know, in Los Angeles, the old Belmont Tunnel / Toluca substation and train yard was an epicenter for West Coast graffiti and also home to one of the earlier Jungle parties in Los Angeles circa 1993. 1. Tell us about upcoming releases you have:

I’ve been writing a lot of music with Peeb and Duburban recently, so my next few releases are mostly collabs with one or both of them. Peeb and I recently released a track called Koi Fable on Transmute Recordings, which is out on vinyl and digital. I’ve also got collabs lined up for release on Gunns Road Music, as well as things coming on AKO Beatz and Over/Shadow.

2. Tell us about your show on Jungletrain.

I started on Jungletrain about 7 years ago. Originally the show was myself and Hollie Anthwax, but now it's mostly just me, with the occasional appearance from Hollie and the odd guest mix. I try and make a point of showcasing old and new music, as well as using it to test out new bits by myself and my mates. If you want to listen, I am on every other Sunday from 8-10pm UK time, just before Tim Reaper and Pete DevNull's show.

3. Does pineapple belong on pizza?

No.

Outsiders & Volcano - Ozora Festival  2018 - Full Set

Today's installment in the Booms and Claps mix series comes to us from London's Lewis James in the form of a 47 minute turbo-charged high octane journey through halftime drum and bass beats, footwork, jungle, electro-influenced ghettotech and juke, and 160 bpm rave music. We've had our eye on Lewis for quite some time now, from his early self-released Bandcamp beats, to releases on the legendary Lowriders Recordings and Rua Sound, to his recent success with major uptempo bass music imprints like 1985 Music and Astrophonica Recordings, and we couldn't be more excited to see where he goes from here. From what we're hearing in this mix, it seems like he's taken an interest in the four on the floor 160 bpm electro sound that has been championed recently by folks like Fracture and Om Unit, and we certainly hope there's more to come from him in that vein.
